Issues with urination are often caused by underlying pelvic floor dysfunction. Incontinence is any involuntary loss of urine, indicating the pelvic floor is unable to hold back the flow. Your PT will discuss a treatment plan with you that will include the frequency and duration of your PT sessions and planned interventions. Recommended treatments may include techniques to reduce urinary urgency and frequency, retaining pelvic floor muscles to work correctly, education in bladder irritants and dietary/fluid modifications, exercises that assist with pelvic floor function (may include breathing, hip, back or abdominal muscle exercises), posture instruction, and behavioral / stress management strategies.

Ultrasound
For many patients, one of the primary objectives is pain relief. This is frequently accomplished with hands-on techniques, modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and/or heat or cold therapy. Movement often provides pain relief as well. Your physical therapist will provide you with the appropriate exercises not only for pain relief but to recover range of motion, strength, and endurance.

My experience at Rue and Primavera with Kegan Murphy was excellent. Before my hand surgery, I could not pick up anything and the pain from the carpal tunnel was terrible. Thanks to Kegan, I can do all my normal activities and my favorite crafts. He started out with small movements and massaging to lifting weights and great dexterity with all of my fingers. He was very patient and great to work with.

Frozen Shoulder
Also known as “adhesive capsulitis”, this can occur if your arm has been immobilized in a sling for a long time, or you’ve been bedridden for a n extended period. Some ethnicities as well as women of all ethnicities are predisposed to this condition which is most common between the ages of 40-60 years. It results in a painful tightening and loss of motion in the shoulder joint.

Patients who are good candidates for hand therapy may have been affected by an accident or trauma, leaving them with wounds, scars, burns, injured tendons or nerves, fractures, or evenÂ amputations of the fingers, hands or arms. We currently provide pediatric therapy, hand therapy, women’s health care, laser therapy, aquatic therapy, vestibular rehabilitation, splints, nerve conduction studies, and swelling and lymphedema.
Manual Therapy
Your therapist will not be able to perform hands on treatment such as manual therapy so the telehealth visit may not be able to address all your therapy needs until a physical visit to our clinic is possible.
