I have two border collies, and we went to visit Dr. Jackson and he was very helpful about everything I had to ask him. I could tell immediately that he and his staff were very compassionate about the animals. I will be bringing my dogs back every year for their annual visit. I highly recommend this animal clinic!
I wish every vet was this thorough. The staff is very friendly, as is Dr. Jackson. Our previous vet had our dog on pain pills for limping in the back leg and said it was hip displaysia (sp?) and all he could do was put our dog on medication for pain. We went in for a second opinion and they took some x rays of the hips and found out that only one hip joint was bad. However what we did find out was that there was a torn knee ligament that was causing most of the problems. Bad for us and our dog, but at least things make sense to us and at least we have answers. I didn't really like the news(knee surgery), but at least we know for sure what the deal is. The doctor explained everything very well and didn't rush us out of the office. He answered all our questions to our satisfaction. We are switching to this vet for our regular care.
My experience was they convinced me I needed to spend a lot more money on items we really didn't need - I agreed b/c at the time I trusted them and was vulnerable to their direction and advice. They were friendly during the process, but I don't trust their motivation. Now that there has been some distance from the situation, I really feel like I was suckered - that they were just trying to sell me everything/every service possible to increase the $bill.
Dr. Jackson is a great vet, we trust him completely and would highly recommend him!
