Yoko's Hair Studio

Been going here for over 2 years. Terrie did my hair and my wife's hair some years ago and changed locations. We were extremely fortunate to run into her by accident and she told us she is working at Yoko's. My wife and my kids and I have been going only to her ever since. Terrie rocks!

Also, the other staff and Yoko herself are all very nice and I am sure they do an excellent job as well.

I'm a big fan of Yoko. She never ceases to amaze me, and I'm pretty picky!

If you have asian hair and feel like there's no one in the entire metro Detroit area that understands what to do with it, you ought to give Yoko's a try. Since they serve a primarily Japanese clientele, most of the staff here are native Japanese speakers, although they do have 2 english speaking stylists as well. I personally have been going to Terrie - the only white person in the whole joint, and she does a really good job in keeping my hair texturized, yet leaving enough length so it can be spiked into a faux hawk on my "wild" days. Her expert texturization is what sets her apart - when I used to go to Aqua in Royal Oak, I would feel like I need a new hair cut every week. I've been to Yoko's twice now and both times it would last me about 3-4 weeks until I'm desperate for another cut. $35 for a men's cut is the most expensive one I've ever had in Michigan, but I suppose you do get what you pay for.

I've never been to Yoko's for a hair cut actually but for manicure. You can make your appointment with Maco and she does wonderful job with Calgel. With calgel nails you feel like you are not wearing gel nails and they are supposedly better for your nails compared to regular gel nail system. Pricing is a bit higher than other local nail places but getting calgel is so worth it and they last long.

Yoko is the great hair stylist. She is very cheerful. You comeback with a big smile on your face.
