Run indeed. He has changed and only cares about the money now. I heard he went through a divorce, which could explain a few things.

RUN RUN as fast as you can….This doctor (Dr. Guiboux) MAYBE a great surgeon, (I would not know), but he does NOT have the best bedside manner. I ignored my instincts and decided to go with him anyway. The day before an appointment to get my test results, I got a call and was told I owed 100.00, but they couldn't really tell me what it was for. They said it was my co-pay but I knew that it could not be a co-pay for an office visit because I already paid that. At my appointment they still had trouble figuring out what it was for. They finally were able to tell me it was a co-pay for a test. I saw Dr. Guiboux who basically said I had to have surgery, but didn't really give any details. I should have asked more questions but I really thought the last thing I would hear is that I needed surgery, so I was in a bit in shock. Dr. Guiboux told me I had to pay the 100.00 before my surgery. Then he sent in his assistant, who told me I needed to pay 100.00 before the surgery. Then I went to the check out desk and was told (yes you guessed it) you need to pay 100.00 before the surgery (all within 15 minutes). This is were I should have jumped ship, but I stayed. I saw the certificates on the wall from other doctors and thought he must be a good surgeon, so I stayed. The day before my surgery at 3:00 PM I called to pay my 100.00 balance. They then proceeded to tell me that I now owe 425.00 and I must pay it in the next two hours. I was like that is totally insane I still have not received a bill for this. They said they sent it out 4 days ago, which is why I didn't receive the bill yet. Then as I explained my situation, and how family members took time off of work to spend time with me and to take me to and from the surgery. The office manager talked to Dr. Guiboux about my situation and then told me that I would have to pay even more money ($500.00 before the surgery). They explained that since my deductible for my insurance was not met yet that I would be required to pay at least $500.00 before Dr. Guiboux would perform the surgery. The week before the surgery I spoke with the surgery center and worked everything out with them regarding future payments. The additional money that he was NOW requiring was for the surgery that he was supposed to perform the next day. So wait now I am required to pay for services not even performed yet??? WHAT? Dr. Guiboux said since my deductible hasn't been met yet, he would NOT accept the 425.00, now I need to pay at least $500.00 by 5:00 p.m. (he gave me 2 hours) or he would cancel my surgery. I offered to pay the amount next week, but I could not pay it with a two hour notice. Most offices send you a bill and give you time to pay. I got 2 hours, and the bill kept going up and up. I was totally shocked at the way I was treated by Dr. Guiboux. I will not be having surgery with Dr. Guiboux. Don't put yourself through this kind of treatment.
