The UPS Store

Since moving here to North Port, in 2017, we've been to this location several times for our shipping needs and found the staff to be courteous to professional.

Please DO NOT USE THIS STORE TO SHIP! I needed to ship a ring to France. I stopped by the store on a Thur to see if I could ship to France and was told yes. I asked if she was sure because the same day I was told no by USPS. I went in Sat and Helen the owner helped me. She was having a hard time getting the address in to ship. I ask her to call the 1800 number for UPS but she refused. She found a different way to ship the ring and I paid 126.59 and thought all was well. Later on that wk I received an email from my buyer from France stating that the country does not except gold/diamond/opal imports from other countries. I received a second phone call from the UPS store in North Port telling me there was a mistake and the country would not accept my ring and if I want my ring back it would be 138.00 to pick up. I spoke to the owner to complain about her shipping my ring when that country does not except rings. I told her it is her responsibility to know each counties rules for shipping and she told me it was not.SHE WOULD NOT HELP. Wait a minute,,, your business is shipping but you don.t have to know about shipping internationally???? How does that make sense??. I then asked her for the customer service number to call to complain and guess what she gave me?The UPS number. Let me tell you that the UPS stores are in no way affiliated with UPS. These little stores are franchises like Hungry Howies ,Dunkin Donuts ect. She did not even give me the right phone number. UPS however did and I contacted the corporate office to complain. The corporate office told me that each franchisee has access to the computer or phone if they want to know about each country policies for accepting imports. Helen should have taken the time to recheck the computer or call but she did not and now I am out 260.00 . This is her profession shipping and she does not even know what she is doing. She has poor customer service skills and does not want to go the extra mile to make sure things are right. Please use the USPS instead!!!!!
