Various treatment options for RLS are available including iron supplements, pharmacological treatment (drugs), and lifestyle changes including exercise. In addition to consulting with your primary care Physician on the best course of treatment, a consult with a venous disease specialist (Vein Doctor), should be part of a comprehensive diagnosis and treatment plan. Consulting with a venous specialist is important to rule out venous disease as a possible underlying cause of RLS before embarking on a course of therapy. Treatment and diagnoses for restless leg syndrome should be sought if your discomfort is consistent.

Ultrasound
Venoclosure and Endovenous Laser Ablation are very similar techniques. In venoclosure, the greater saphneous vein is accessed using ultrasound for guidance. A radiofrequency fiber is placed in the vein and advanced to the level of the groin. Radiofrequency energy is used to destroy the lining of the greater saphenous vein.

General Surgery
As a medical facility, our clinic follows protocols to ensure the highest level of sanitation. During this time, we are redoubling our efforts and implementing CDC guidelines. We have expanded our surgical services to accommodate patients with acute surgical issues including abscesses, lacerations, leg ulcers, skin infections, and more to lessen the burden on our hospitals and emergency departments for any of these acute problems.
Laparoscopy
Founder & Medical Director Dr. Nelson is a Board Certified General Surgeon who specializes in Advanced Laparoscopy and Laser Vein Surgery. She has been in private practice since 2002. She was educated at the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine and graduated with Honors from Stanford University. She has been published in professional journals, has presented at conferences and was even featured on Lifetime cable network television series “Women Docs”. Dr. Nelson is in an elite class of very few physicians who are Board Certified in the field of Phlebology, the specialized practice of treating veins.

Ulcer
This is a 34 year old white man who has suffered from recurrent venous ulcers for years. He has a partial thickness ulcer that is well demarcated. It is the darkening of his skin and the hint of redness at the border between his normal skin tone and his hyperpigmented (darkened) skin tone that make the appearance of his leg classic for venous insufficiency. All of his skin changes are from his venous stasis and varicose veins. Notice that he does not have any significant obvious varicose veins. Forty-percent of individuals with leg ulcers from venous stasis do not have obvious visible varicose veins.
