West Side Preschool

This preschool is a GEM in the roster of new york city schools where finding down to earth, approachable teachers and parents can be a challenge. The teachers are excellent and the Director is fantastic and very organized. She is skilled at pulling together a group of children and parents that get a long so well together. My son loves the school and is learning so much through his play there. The classroom is large, airy and open, offering many opportunities for the children to explore the world. We also love that the class contains mixed ages of 3s and 4s so that the children learn from one another each day. I cannot recommend this school enough to parents that want an engaging school experience for the whole family.

We have had a wonderful experience at WSP. Our son thrived there and our daughter is currently enrolled and loving it. She comes home singing songs, excited about learning, show-and-tell, and reading books to her pretend students. The teachers and director are extremely organized and structured, without being too rigid. They are also very loving and really "get" kids. Neither of my kids had separation issues at WSP because the phasing in process was so well designed. WSP was also a great help in walking us through the kindergarten application process and as a result the overwhelming process was not as daunting. Overall, we can not say enough wonderful things about this school. It also helps that the other parents are great--the school seems to attract a good cohort of loving but not overbearing parents!
