Overall

During a routine sonogram when I was 20 weeks pregnant, my OB-GYN saw a mass near my right kidney. Needless to say I was frightened for myself and my unborn child. My doctor sent me to Dr. Stifelman who was professional, knowledgeable, and kind. His pleasant smile and demeanor calmed me even when the biopsy revealed that the tumor was malignant. Dr. Stifelman carefully monitored the tumor during my pregnancy. Thank God it remained stable and I was able to deliver a healthy full term baby. After a few weeks, Dr. Stifelman performed a radical nephrectomy, removing the right kidney and the tumor. His expertise as a robotic surgeon put me at ease and the surgery was successful. I'm so thankful that everything worked out so well and I owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to Dr. Stifelman.

Overall

In March 2015 I had a CT scan where a renal mass was inadvertently found on my left kidney. The tumor was thought to be malignant. My physician immediately suggested I make an appointment to see Dr. Stifelman at NYU. I thought to see Dr. Stifelman and then make a second appointment with a doctor nearer my home. After the consultation meeting with Dr. Stifelman my family and I quickly decided there was no need to see anyone else as he was hands down the top of the top. Not only was he an expert in his field but a compassionate, personable and caring professional. Dr Stifelman was able to perform a partial nephrectomy saving half of my kidney as the mass originally thought to be malignant turned out to be benign! I was truly blessed not only for the diagnosis but for finding Dr. Stifelman....the best of the best!!! The entire staff in Dr. Stifelman's office...Enioca, Diane, Leticia and all we encountered were exceptional! My family and I are forever grateful for this amazing doctor and his entire team!

Very positive experience

While assessing my options for treatment of prostate cancer, I was fortunate to meet Dr Stifelman. From the outset, he impressed me as someone very good at describing the entire process, the risks, the ups and downs. More importantly, he was clearly very confident in his ability to handle whatever was thrown at him. This confidence really put me at ease. Surgery was ultimately successful. It's now a year later, and he considers me a success story. I guess that, since whatever minor symptoms occasionally appear are manageable, I'd have to agree.
