Pediatric Care
Dr. Sergio Cisneros is a licensed optometrist providing comprehensive eye care at NY Vision Group. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California Irvine and double majored in Psychology and Criminology. A native to California, he relocated to New York City and received his doctorate in optometry at SUNY College of Optometry in 2022. Being of Mexican descent, Dr. Cisneros frequently volunteered to assist the collegeâ€™s CSTEP program speaking to underserved and underrepresented minorities to recruit them to the medical field. He is well trained in pediatrics, ocular surface disease management, specialty contact lenses and general optometric eye care. He enjoys getting to know all his patients and educating them about their ocular health.
Primary Care
The temperature of every patient must be taken once you enter our office. If a patientâ€™s temperature is above 100.4 degrees F, you will need to reschedule your appointment and contact your primary care doctor. We may also utilize oximeter screening.
Emergency Care
If a child’s eye is injured, see a health care professional, preferably an ophthalmologist, or go to the emergency room immediately even if the eye injury appears minor. Delaying medical attention can result in permanent vision loss or blindness.

Glaucoma
Latisse is a product used to lengthen, thicken and darken eyelashes. It has been on the market since the FDA approved it in December 2008 and is actually a version of a glaucoma medication in eye drop form called bimatoprost (brand name Lumigan), in use since FDA approval in 2001. During that period, eye doctors and their glaucoma patients noticed that the drug had a noticeable side effect: over time patients using the drop developed longer, lusher eyelashes. Consequently, Latisse was introduced to be used to cosmetically enhance eyelashes. Because it is a prescription medication, with some side effects, it should be used under the guidance of trained eye professionals, such as the doctors at NY Vision Group.
Ophthalmology
Dr. Malik is a Diplomate of American Board of Ophthalmology and is Board Certified in Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Society of Retina Specialists. She has completed her surgical vitreoretinal fellowship at Gavin Herbert Eye Institute at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Malik received her medical degree from B.J. medical College in India. Dr. Malik has completed ophthalmology residencies at B.J. Medical College in Gujarat, India and Mohan Eye Institute, Delhi University in New Delhi, India. Dr. Malik is an accomplished researcher and has conducted several national clinic trials to evaluate the efficacy of drugs and devices in the treatment of retinal disorders. She has been honored as on of the Top Ophthalmologists in the Philadelphia region and included in the 2021 Top Doctors List. Dr. Malik is fluent in English as well as Hindi.

BOTOXÂ® is a popular cosmetic treatment for facial wrinkles and frown lines. One of the benefits is that people can look and feel younger without the risk or cost of traditional plastic surgery. A purified version of the botulinum toxin (later to be known as BOTOXÂ® ) was first used in medical research in the 1970s to treat crossed eyes. Shortly thereafter, it was used to treat eye spasms and in other medical fields such as neurology, ophthalmology, ENT and dermatology. In 2002 the FDA officially approved BOTOXÂ® for use between the eyebrows, and now BOTOXÂ® is the most popular physician-administered aesthetic procedure in the United States.
Multiple Sclerosis
Pregnant women and nursing mothers should avoid BOTOXÂ® injections as there is little evidence into the effects of BOTOXÂ® on the mother and child. Patients taking antibiotics should advise their doctor of this before undergoing treatment, as some medications will preclude patients from having the procedure. There are also several medical disorders such as multiple sclerosis which would make someone unsuitable for BOTOXÂ® treatment. Diabetic Retinopathy
Diabetic Retinopathy is the most common diabetic eye disease. It is caused by changes to the blood vessels of the retina. In some cases blood vessels may swell and leak fluid, in other cases, abnormal new blood vessels grow on the surface of the eye. In either case, it interferes with the ability of the retina to function properly and usually affects both eyes. All people with diabetes, both type I and type II are at risk. In fact between 40 to 45 percent of Americans diagnosed with diabetes have some stage of diabetic retinopathy. The longer someone has diabetes, the more likely that he or she will develop diabetic retinopathy.

Ultrasound
Ultrasound procedure which provides a cross-sectional view of eye tissues; the procedure is used to evaluate structures that cannot be directly seen.
MRI
Â€œFor the past 2 years have seen many doctors and each of them have not been able to diagnosis what was causing my loss of vision. Plastic Surgeons

Botox
In addition to BOTOXÂ®, NY Vision Group offers dermal fillers at both its New York and Queens offices. Dermal fillers are soft tissue fillers that can add volume and reduce wrinkles, providing immediate results without surgery. Although there are many dermal fillers available, the two products that NY Vision Group uses: Restylane and Juvederm, utilize the natural hydrating substance, hyaluronic acid (HA). Young, healthy-looking skin contains an abundance of this naturally hydrating substance. As you age, however, sunlight and other factors can reduce the amount of HA in your skin. The lack of HA causes your skin to lose structure and volume, creating unwanted facial wrinkles and folds – like those parentheses lines around your nose and mouth. Using a dermal filler like Restylane or Juvederm is a safe and effective way to replace the HA your skin has lost, bringing back its volume and smoothing away facial wrinkles and folds. Eyelid Surgery
Managing lid problems. If you have an eyelid condition, such as an anatomic abnormality or an incomplete blink that aggravates your dry eyes, we may recommend eyelid surgery. If your eyelids are inflamed due to blepharitis, we may recommend regular cleaning of the area with a dilute solution of baby shampoo and/or short-term, nightly treatment with antibiotic drops or ointment or treatment with an oral antibiotic such as tetracycline or doxycycline.
