The Chinese-American Planning Council, earlier known as Chinatown Planning Council, offers day care, employment and community services for children, youths and senior citizens. It operates more than 10 day care and after-school centers for multiethnic families. The council s day care centers offer classes in English, art, music, cooking and dance. Its employment division offers training in household, clerical, apparel and hospitality areas. The council also operates centers for senior people. Its youth programs provide education, vocational, counseling and leadership development services for Chinese immigrants and other young people. Additionally, the council operates community service centers that provide comprehensive and accessible benefits for low-income residents and non-English speaking immigrants. Founded in 1965, the Chinese-American Planning Council is located in New York City.
