Dobies Funeral Home

I haf the unfortunate experience of dealing with Mr. Dobie while arranging for my brothers cremation. I spoke with Mr. Dobie first on 1/31/2011 and made arrangements for his facility to cremate my brother. After speaking with Mr. Dobie, I learned of an indigent program through the county that would do the cremation at no cost to the family. I called the coroners office to get the information, then called Mr. Dobie back to inform him that we were applying for the program. He agreed and asked me to call him back once we received the approval and he would credit my Mastercard back the $951.00 he charged for the services. This all transpired in less than one hours time.

We applied and were approved, I called Mr. Dobie back as asked. He stated he would credit my card and would transport the body. I asked him why he had the body and he said he had gotten authorization to pick up the body. I asked him from whom and he began to yell at me over the phone at the top of his lungs, "We have done everything we could for you people! Someone gave us approval or we never would have picked up the body! I am doing a funeral of a twenty year old girl right now and....", just kept ranting. I asked him why he was yelling at me, and he just kept yelling. I just hung up the phone.

He then calls my greiving mother, to lie to her stating that I had gotten "huffy" with him and he had to get "huffy" right back. I was totally shocked at Mr. Dobies complete disregard for a greiving family and his extremely unprofessional behavior. Please do not subject yourself or your loved ones to Mr. Dobies irrational behavior. Find another funeral / cremation provider for your needs.
