Carmelitas

Usually love the Mexican food but was disappointed with my last visit to Carmelita's . The Beef Enchilada's shedded beef filling was chewy and there wasn't enough brown sauce on the Enchilada's. The salad had Bacon bits on the top and the smokey bacon flavor didn't go well with my meal. The flavor of this meal was disappointing.

The service is allways excellent and the food is wonderful. Best home made salsa that I've ever had!

The staff was polite and courteous, the food was good and priced well. Keep it up guys.

We love the freshness and high quality of Carmelita's in New Port Richey not to mention how clean this place is. The best way to for me and my family to describe this restaurant is on how often we dine in there.

I am from Texas and I know my Mexican food. This is the BEST Mexican food I have had since I've lived in Florida. We used to frequent the one down in Clearwater, but now we are so excited to have one near our home! The rice and beans are traditional (the best way to be.) The cheese enchiladas are absolutely FANTASTIC. They have a homemade brown sauce and are stuffed with the perfect blend of cheeses. The chips are always fresh and the hot sauce is homemade with the finest consistency and spices. Don't forget to order a margarita!The atmosphere in this restaurant accompanies the traditional cuisine. The waitresses wear Spanish dresses and the Spanish music compliments the mood. The sopapillas are "New Mexico style," deep fried, crispy outside, and puffed out like a "doughnut" with a hollow center (other Mexican restaurants should make a note of this.) Carmelita's is the absolute finest in Mexican cuisine in the state of Florida and we LOVE it!
