Mr. Leftwich, a member of Ajubita, Leftwich & Salzer, L.L.C., received his law degree from Loyola University in 1977 and was a member of the Loyola Law Review. He received his LL.M., Masters in Taxation, from Boston University in 1978. Mr. Leftwich is a Board Certified Tax Specialist, Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization. His practice is focused primarily in commercial law, with an emphasis in federal and state income taxation. His practice includes all aspects of state and federal tax law as well as corporate and business law and real estate transactions. He handles a wide variety of commercial transactions, including the merger, acquisition and disposition of regional and national companies. Mr. Leftwich’s practice also includes representing clients before the Internal Revenue Service. Mr. Leftwich is a Board Certified Estate Planning and Administration Specialist, Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization and has an extensive estate planning and succession law practice.
Business Transactions
Mr. Salzer has been practicing in the field of taxation since 1985; first as a Revenue Agent for five years with the Internal Revenue Service, and thereafter, as an attorney in the State of Louisiana. Mr. Salzer practices in the areas of federal, state and local taxation and business transactions. He has handled a wide variety of tax matters for individuals and for-profit and non-profit business entities. Mr. Salzer assists clients in connection with federal, state and parish tax audits, tax collection matters, tax planning strategies, administrative appeals and tax litigation involving various areas of federal and Louisiana taxation. Mr. Salzer also handles criminal tax matters before the Internal Revenue Service.

Real Estate Transactions

Personal Injury
His practice areas have included: maritime, admiralty, personal injury and death, health care, doctors, hospitals, nursing homes and every manner of business dispute, as well as insurance and insurance coverage questions and litigation. Stepping out of his comfort zone after Katrina, he defended the owners of the St. Rita Nursing Home in a 118 count criminal indictment, including homicide, and obtained a complete acquittal on all counts.

Estate Planning
Mr. Ajubita currently represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service and U. S. Courts. Mr. Ajubita also handles commercial matters, including, acquisitions and sales of businesses, and advises clients in the fields of estate planning, and succession law.
Wills
Our attorneys handle transfer tax planning (federal and state, gift, estate and generation skipping transfer taxes) with a goal toward minimization of such taxes, including, but not limited to, preparation, and modification of last wills and testaments, testamentary trusts, inter vivos revocable trusts, inter vivos irrevocable trusts, estate and income tax planning in connection with retirement plans and life insurance, and administration of estates/succession and post-portem tax planning.

Mr. Salzer is licensed to practice in the State of Louisiana and is a Board Certified Tax Law Specialist. He has also been admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana.
