The Pet Barracks

We left our 10 month old pup at the Pet Barracks over the Memorial Day weekend. They came recommended by our vet and we were impressed by their friendliness and facilities. Once we returned and picked up our dog, all appeared fine until we got her home. She is now very skittish, shies away from strangers and will dart from loud noises and when we move towards her too quickly. She acts very afraid and hesitant around my husband. It is apparent that she was abused while in their care because our pup NEVER displayed ANY form of hesitation or fear before that weekend!! We are appalled and will NEVER take her back! The veterinary service that recommended them will get a call from us to notify them of her complete 180 in her behavior. We will also make sure to tell the military community! I only put one star as a rating because this site will not let me save without it.

As a dual military couple, my wife and I found it very difficult to make it home everyday during lunch in order to let our dog out. When we heard about the Pet Barracks' daycare program we were a little hesitant to leave our dog with people we didn't know. But after visiting their facilities, we met some of the staff and got a tour and were very impressed. We now use their services several times a week and have boarded our dog there for vacations. The staff has also been accommodating by helping maintain consistency in the way we train our dog. For example, reinforcing certain behaviors and discouraging others.

I am in the military so finding a new kennel for our 2 Labs is a huge stress for my wife in the relocation process. Because we travel often, having our boys taken care of (to my wife's standards) is no easy task. Sam and Gary at The Pet Barracks have put her heart at ease. We have boarded them here several times and each time we pick them up, they are happy and healthy. Additionally, the pictures and emails we receive are above and beyond anything we could ask for. I can honestly say we have never been more pleased with a facility and the staff!!! Thank you for making my life better by taking such wonderful care of our boys.

What a great place to let your dogs and cats stay while your away. I just hope they still want to go home with you when you return since they have such a great time here.

When you leave town and have to leave your best friend behind for an extended period of time nothing makes you feel better than knowing that they will be loved and well taken care of. The staff and owners of this facility make you and your pets a part of their family. I was really nervous the first time I left my two dogs there, and when I came home the dogs didn't even notice I had left! Sam and Gary did a wonderful job of keeping me updated with photos and plenty of emails from the my boys. A very positive experience!
