Trees can enhance the natural beauty of your home and even increase its value; however, over time, certain trees may need professional tree removal services. This can involve different methods depending on the type of tree and property involved. Needless to say, tree removal is hazardous and requires expert precision and training. We provide a thorough clean-up of debris and strive to minimize or eliminate injury or damage to surrounding structures and plants.
Stump Grinding and Removal
Stein Tree Service has been grinding tree stumps and removing tree stumps for homeowners, business owners and municipal customers in Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland since 1983. Our trained and experienced stump grinding and removal crews are skilled at the safe and sensible tree stump removal and stump grinding, using modern techniques and equipment. We also always leave your property in pristine condition.
Crown Reduction
Selective removal of live tree branches decreases density in the canopy to increase sunlight penetration or air movement within the crown and to adjacent lawn and landscape plants. Thinning of branches can help reduce the chance of damage when storms occur.
Storm Damage Cleanup
Stein Tree Service offers storm damage clean-up to help remove the fallen branches and downed trees caused by summer thunder storms, tornadoes, and winter ice and snow, all of which are common in Delaware and Pennsylvania. When your home or property has been damaged by a downed tree, quick response is important to you.
Proper tree trimming and shrub pruning can enhance plant function and performance in the landscape as well as increase structural strength and lessen risk of failure. Stein Tree Service has been providing trimming and pruning services since 1983.

Our services include fertilization, soil testing, pH adjustment, deep root fertilization, aeration and adding beneficial bacteria & root fungi (mycorrhizae).

Tree Cabling and Bracing
Tree cabling and bracing is a corrective measure taken when trees grow in such a manner that their physical structure can no longer support their own weight. This is particularly common in mature multi-trunked trees and trees with open canopies.
Arborist Services
Proper fertilization & soil management is necessary to maintain healthy trees, shrubs & plants. Stein Tree Service has ASI Board Certified Arborists & Certified Horticulturalists on staff to make sure your landscape remains healthy and flourishes.
Land Clearing

We utilize state-of-the-art equipment including aerial lift trucks and articulating aerial lifts, chippers and chipper trucks, cranes, skid steers and stump grinding machines.
Tree Mulching
IMPORTANT: As a standard procedure, we backfill the stump hole with the chips manufactured in the grinding process. The bigger the stump, the bigger the pile of chips. The customer assumes all responsibility for their removal. The woodchips make excellent root mulch for landscape beds. We can remove the chips and replace the area with soil and seed for an extra fee. The customer is responsible for informing us of underground wiring, sprinklers, or drainage around the grinding zone. We will call utilities, and stump and or root removal may be ceased if the markings are too close.
Landscaping around an unsightly stump can be annoying, and weeds or tall grass can grow up around stumps, making them difficult to see. This visibility issue is one of the potential reasons for tripping, and, depending on how low to the ground the stump has been cut, could be a possible path to destroying your mower blades if you accidentally mow over them.
