Overall

Terrible service, poor commination and very unprofessional. I had requested a car be moved from on e side of a parking lot to the next was quoted a price of $50. Instead, said car was towed to the acme lot and I was charged $150 to pickup.

Overall
Watch out for these people

I am considered to be a fair man by all the people who know mw. I am very understanding to all people , putting myself in their shoes because that is the best way to understand someone. I had my truck stolen from my front yard. After a few weeks the police were able to locate it on the west mesa and contracted ACME to tow it to their impound yard.

The truck was a skeleton with doors missing, most of the dash was gone, wheels and tires gone, all external engine upgrades were missing, grill missing, glass busted out etc. Engine, tranny, transfer case, and rear end were all still there.

Heres where I have a problem with this company. I have never had a vehicle stolen, only a dirt bike when I was a kid. I did not know what to expect. I called and made sure that I could view the vehicle and that it was there. When I arrived I was respectful to the staff as I know they are just running a business and performing a necessary service to the albuquerque area. I showed ID had police report #s and proof of ownership of the vehicle. When I asked to remove any personal items and documents I was told that I nedded to pay the tow bill in cash in full before I could secure any personal documents or items not connected to the truck.

To further my confusion I was aware that this company has a salvage yard rite down the road " literally about a mile down the road". When I asked if I paid the towing in the manner that they requested if they would consider pulling the engine and rear end for a fee to their mechanic and they could keep the rest of the parts including a np243c transfer case, 700R4 4l60 tranny that had only 10k on a rebuild "documentation was in glove compartment for this", the whole front differential was still in there, a 6" trailmaster suspension lift "documentation was in glove as well", fuel tank with new high volume pump "you know what was in the glove compartment". I even offered to pay a disposal fee for the rest of the truck to go to a car smasher. The very yard that I saw it in had a full garage in the corner with a mechanic. If they did not want the job I asked if they could point me in the rite direction.

When I asked this they treated me like a criminal talking to me like I was a dog. I found another dismantler down the road who offered to do all of the work for 500 dollars "El Mexicano" if I could have it towed there. ACME was uninterested in any work but towing and quoted me nearly 1200 dollars when all was said and done. I was not allowed to even closely inspect the engine " I just wanted to turn it over by hand to see if it was locked up and worth worrying about". In the end I imagine thet the older white dude in there when I saw the truck did not have plans for the parts on it. I understand that business is business and I cannot work on a vehicle in their yard for liabilitys sake. But to treat me disrespectfully and maintain the level of unprofessionalism that they have is inexcusable. I was a victim of a crime in the first place and feel that ACME towing is only another type of criminal that preys on people who have little choice in the matter. If you get youre car stolen hopefully you can drive it away and if it is towed to this place be ready to defend youre interests. They will do everything to make the experience as horrible as possible and will take advantage of you in every way possable. Sincerely. Matthew Bridger.
