Inspection Services

We hired Mr. Weise based on the recommendation of a local realtor. While he seems like a nice guy who will do a thorough inspection (he has a lot of credentials to back up his claims of expertise), he failed to tell us we could have the utility companies turn the utilities on for a day to do the inspection. (The only reason we know this now is because our realtor informed us when we told her the results of the inspection). Mr. Weise says he didn't know this could be done, but isn't it his job to know these things? Instead, we've wasted more than $200 on an inspection that could hardly be performed. We now have no clue whether the appliances, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and more, work because they couldn't be tested. When we told him we were upset about this, he said he'd only go back and finish the inspection for an additional $75. I don't think so. While Mr. Weise may be a little cheaper than other inspectors in the area, it's not worth the savings. I'd shop around for an inspector who is a little more caring about his clients!
