        What Is Hot Mop Pan, And Why Do I Need It? Hot Mop application is necessary for all Showers, Roman Tubs, Decks that are Constructed of Tile, Marble, Stone, etc. After a Shower is built, the cement and grouts shrinks leaving very small cracks around the edges of the floor and dam area. Water penetrates these small cracks, and without hot mop pan liner water will seep into the wood floors and studs, causing wood rot. It will seep under vinyl floors and under walls into the next room destroying carpet, wood, and drywall. A good shower pan is everything. It’s the heart of the shower, without it you have nothing. Things You Need To Do Before We Hot Mop: •On remodels - Be sure you tear out the Tile and Mud work, Hardy backer, Wonder board on the side including the bottom sub floor of your shower, including your Old Hot Mop Liner up to the studs and make it sure everything is clean and vacuum, no nails, wires and Old paper left behind and we only need to see studs or plywood partition on the sides of your shower…The Smoother the surface the better Hot Mop Pan will Turn out. •Do you have Backing in your shower? Or in between your studs? if not, you can put “2x8”, “2x12”, or “2x6” you can nailed this in between your studs flush to the stud floors…( Don’t worry about the areas Where there is pipes) If you have Bench, seat or Tub Edge on you shower make it sure you cover it with plywood so we can hot mop up to that area. •DAM- Nailed three “2x4” together or one “4x6” For a DAM… Note: For the handicap shower it’s the best way is to recess the shower floor at least 2 inches so you don’t have to put DAM. •Do you have the correct drain? It is better to put new Drain and make it sure the Bottom Flung Is Flash to the floors “It’s Better To Use 3 Bolts Cast Iron Drain… NO Guarantee On: Plastic drain will work but sometimes the bolt holes can strip out when tightening and it can cause major leaks and it can warp from heat...Plastic drain with 4 bolts should not be used because it only specifically made for vinyl pan liner. But we can make it work with small modification… •No Mud Work, Hardy Backer, or Wonder Board should be started before Hot Mop Pan is installed… WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO DO BUSINESS WITH YOU!!!
