Hart Pest Control is your source for top-notch commercial pest control services. Our fully licensed technicians are prepared to handle a wide range of invasive pests, including...
With more than a dozen native ant species and several imported varieties in Texas, you’ll see these pests in your yard and your house. You may even find Carpenter Ants damaging your home. Ants are particularly pesky because they have large colonies and infest homes in great numbers. Experts agree that ants are the most common household pest in the United States, but we don’t think that they have to be. With effective ant control, you can enjoy your home and your garden without interference from these tiny intruders.
Spiders
Most of the spiders that invade area homes are common southern house spiders. Their yellow or tan bodies are often spotted, and they scurry around on long, slender legs. Females hide out weaving webs while males fearlessly travel all over your home. These pests don’t bite, but their sheer numbers can quickly become a nuisance.
Termites
Clearing the work site prior to the main excavation is an important step in the process. Items such as logs, mulch and wood that are left there provide termites with a good food source. Sometimes termites are found and eradicated during this step of the process.
Bed Bugs
Fleas
Fleas are wingless blood-sucking insects that have been feeding on humans and other mammals for several million years. They are small, with adults typically measuring less than 1/8 inch in length. Their dark color and tiny size make them difficult to see, providing them opportunities to remain hidden for weeks or months.
Cockroaches
Pests gradually adapt to popular extermination methods and cause them to become obsolete. Some chemicals worked well in the past but have little effect today. That’s why our technicians utilize the most modern equipment, supplies and techniques. This helps us rapidly eliminate infestations and deliver lasting results. It also enables our staff to combat a wide range of rodent, tick, scorpion, spider, ant, termite, bee and cockroach species.
Bees
Bees vary in color and size by species, but most are about one-half to three-quarters of an inch long and are identified by their black and yellow stripes and hairy abdomens. A honeybee may have black and amber or brown stripes. Bumble bees are characteristically large and furry, while carpenter bees have black, shiny bodies without yellow stripes.
Wasps
Almost everyone has seen bees and wasps flying around their yards and gardens. The appearance of several may indicate that a wasp nest or beehive is nearby. Although both insects can benefit your garden by spreading pollen or killing other pests, a large number of bees or wasps can become a serious problem.
Ticks
You shouldn’t feel like a target when you walk in your grass. When ticks infest your yard, you can’t enjoy time outdoors or send your pets out to play. Ticks feed on blood and latch onto people and pets as they walk into an infested area. These bloodsuckers also hitchhike easily and can invade your home and other spaces without you even noticing it. If ticks have you locked indoors, Hart Pest Control is here to help.
Mosquitoes
Mosquitoes breed in large numbers and quickly infest outdoor areas during late spring and throughout the summer. They thrive in hot, humid climates like Texas and spread rapidly when they’re left untreated. These invasive pests feed on blood and spread various diseases to people and pets. With Hart Pest Control, you can reduce mosquito populations around your home and enjoy a pest-free time outdoors.
Flies
Scorpions
Scorpions are also arachnids, but they’re categorized as arthropods because of their external skeletons and segmented bodies. From the powerful stinger at the end of a five-segmented tail to the pincers on its front arms, a bark scorpion can measure more than 2 inches in length. The pests have two eyes on top of their head and several pairs on each side, but they’re virtually blind.
Midges
Because mosquitoes carry nasty viruses, people kill them at first sight. Unfortunately, you may kill insects with similar characteristics as the mosquito. Midges and Crane Flies have long, slender bodies and resemble mosquitoes to the untrained eye; these insects don’t bite or carry infectious diseases. Professionally trained specialists from Hart Pest Control can help you determine whether you have a mosquito infestation or a different insect problem altogether.
Unwanted guests? Rodents! Who needs them? We certainly know you don't! We will alleviate the problem and can minimize rodent populations around your home or business.
Mice
Size is the most obvious difference between rats and mice. Mice weigh less than an ounce. Norway and roof rats, two of the most common species, can weigh 12 ounces. From head to tail, they can measure over a foot.
Rats
Fleas can be hazardous to the health of both humans and pets. In addition to causing painful, itchy bites, fleas can transmit diseases. The fleas feeding on rats have been blamed for the transmission of bubonic plague, which devastated the human population on more than one occasion and which has never been totally eradicated. Fleas have been known to transmit typhus and other bacterial diseases, including the bacteria linked to cat-scratch fever. Contaminated fleas can also introduce tapeworm eggs into the bloodstreams of animals or humans when they bite a host. Fleas have also been found to serve as vectors for protozoa, which cause a variety of diseases, including Chagas disease and sleeping sickness.
