Fraudulent

I bought 2 GIGs of RAM off them last year in November for $108. It came, and worked fine, and I was very pleased with the exception that the site said they would send me 2 free heat sinks with my purchase and they have never arrived, even after several emails and telephone calls (they don't answer their phone nor return calls)! However in Febuary 2008 $108 was taken out of my bank account by this company. The only purchase I'd made was the one the November before, so contacted the bank.

Now the bank is saying that it's not fraud because I gave the company my credit card details in the first place!!! Although the bank says it's still wrong and is still dealing with it (the bank - BOA - credited me with the $108 this company stole off me, and it is stealing since I made NO purchase, and they themselves sent an email after I threatened to go to the Police, and tell me they will return my money within 7 days - which they did not do.



Buyer beware holds new meaning to me now ;)

I have come to trust greatbuytechnology for all my computer needs

I've been ordering from greatbuytechnology for the past year now and won't buy from another vendor unless their price is seriously below greatbuytechnology's. Quick shipping, great packaging, very competitve prices.

And yes I did receive my free gift in the mail at No Charge/Cost

The Best

I don't know how anyone could write a negative review for Great buy. After buying dozens of items from them, at really super prices, I only received one thing that was DOA and that was a D-Link ADSL Modem. After calling their returns dept., CSR Bryan Cruz emailed me an immediate RGA and prepaid shipping label to return the item via UPS. He also aplogized for the inconvenience and issued me full credit including original shipping charge as soon as the items were received at Great buy. Through the entire process Bryan was courteous and did things above and beyond to make sure I was completely satisfied. I've never had anything but good dealings with all of Neweggs personnell--both from the sales and returns depts. Anyone not having positive results with Great buy has got to be trying to pulling something shady on them. They are more than fair and go to extremes to keep all their customers happy. Keep up the good work, Great buy!!!

Is criminal

Turns out to be a one man operation. C Young (who knows what "C" stands for). Used to be on PriceWatch.com, but got kicked off due to complaints. He uses his website to get people to order with their credit card, then sends them low quality product (or none at all) and uses their credit card over and over, charging successively larger amounts each time. It's completely fraudulent. I ordered $33 worth of memory through PriceWatch on 1/20/08. He charged my American Express $33 on 1/21/08, $33 on 2/04/08, and $299 on 2/21/08. He deserves jail.

DO NOT USE THIS SO CALLED "COMPANY" !!!!!!!

Four months ago my husband placed a order threw Greatbuytechnology.com, on the day the package was due to arrive we received a email stateing the piece was out of stock. We tried calling the company and left SEVERAL messages, asking to please contact us. I check my acount daily and sure enough "Great Buy Pc" still was trying to take funds from my account. With SEVERAL more irate messages left on there answer machine(never spoke to a person) the transaction was cancled. Now we are in 2008 and with my normal routine of checking my account I see there is a POS transaction trying to go threw and guess who it is "Great Buy Pc". I again am calling the one phone # they have and the same answer machine picks up.

Disappointed

It seems to be a one-person operation, and is very clumsy. First it shipped incorrect material, which was also broken. Then they shipped the correct material, but was broken again. Then they didn't ship anything. I said "ship me even a lower material, as long as it works", but nothing -- so I'm left with no material and no money. Excuses range from "sorry, everybody was on vacations" to "you'll receive it soon" (but of course I didn't receive anything). This was by far my worst experience ever with any vendor.
