My husband contacted John on August 5th for a quote to fix some loose bricks on my chimney and repair the crown. John gave him a quote at one price and we gave him a deposit of $650 the same day and signed a contract. The next day he dropped off his seedy looking workers and left. He wasn't even there to do the work! The workers then told my husband the quote we initially received was too low and said they needed to double the price of the original quote! That's when my husband called John and requested a refund and that we cancel the contract.



According to the contract you have 3 days to submit a written letter asking to cancel the contract which we hand delivered to his office mailbox the next day. We didn't hear anything back from them so we called a couple of days later. They acknowledged that they received our letter and said our refund was in the mail. A week went by and we still hadn't received our refund. Week after week we were told the same story about the check being in the mail.



After many failed phone calls and emails a month went by and he never returned our calls. The only person we were able to talk to was the receptionist who didn't seem to care. So we contacted Consumer Affairs and the Attorney General's office. After being threatened of being penalized by the Attorney General office he then had someone drop off our refund on Oct. 8th. He nor his workers NEVER DID ANY WORK! Why would anyone keep someone's money that long??? It literally took 65 days to get our money back, thanks to the Attorney General's office.



Contact Consumer Affairs and the Attorney General's Office in Passaic if you have a problem with them.

I'm still waiting for them to come back to fix the gutters they installed on (May 23.2014. They leak more then the old ones. They ignore my calls. I even contacted the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Affairs. They ignored them also. They say the work has a 12 year warranty. It doesn't have a one day warranty.

I'm considering suing them for a refund. This site makes you put at least one star. I think they deserve a zero.

Dream Team Chimney provided a very unprofessional manner of servicing our chimney. Workers left stains on rug, mud on floors and oil stains on fireplace stone hearth. The lead worker also tried to scam extra work done to my furnace flue if I paid him cash directly. We were charged an over excessive amount of $500. The original amount was $750, but I had the worker call his office to reduce the price for the work done. The workers were very fast and sloppy work. I also called the office after the workers left to complain, and escalate this issue to the owner, and advised them that I was going to submit a complaint to the BBB. The office contact tried to offer me a discount for gutter work, but I advised her that I do not want to use their business and will not recommend them also.

This company sucks! Never on time, office staff sucks and never schedules properly, then the guys that come to do the work have NO idea what's going on. I would never recommend these guys, except maybe to a friend on crack, who needs a new wheel for his wagon.

I regret hiring Dream Team. The office girls were sweet when they were selling me the job but that's where the nicities ended for me. I hired Dream Team to line my chimney and to install four stovepipes. The technicians didn't complete the job and unbenownst to me, the work they did do was not to code. The technicians balked when I withheld the final payment despite it being in our contract that final payment wasn't due until the job passed inspection by my town. Many requests for the job to be completed were met with empty promises.



Then, when PSE&G was at my house on an unrelated service call, they noticed the partial work done by Dream Team and shut down my furnaces and hot water heaters because of the danger. Thank God for PSE&G. Phonecalls to Dream Team about it were a source of frustration. Office worker Trish suggested I tell the technicians what to do to fix the problem so PSE&G can turn the furnaces back on-wow!! The company wanted me, the homeowner, who knows nothing about chimney liners to supervise their employees.



This is not the work of a professionally run business and I cannot recommend them to anyone.



Footnote: Someone named Janira G from Passaic posted a review of Dream Team on Service Magic. One of the office workers who gave me the Dream Team runaround is called Janira G (her name is on the application for my permit) and Dream Team is in Passaic.

This "Dream" Team was just nightmare.

Super professional estimate and nothing else.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I got two estimate for liner $1800 on paper for 7” liner and $1200 for 6” liner verbal estimate (less labor, chipper liner, no old clay liner removal). Person who did an estimate said that he will do it by himself.

1. Nightmare Team cancelled appointment, very nice lady called me and said that the guy who did an estimate is sick and they will send somebody else if I agree. I called back 5 minutes later to confirm appointment and the person who picked up phone said that the estimate guy is on vacation. That was first red light.

2. Workers (not the estimate guy) who came to my house were only 5 hours late, put 6” liner without informing me, left scrap metals and garbage in my crawl space, disconnected my sub pump, didn’t mount chimney cap.

3. After checking everything I called office with my “findings” and I heard more lies. Nobody mentioned anything about price changes.

4. After 2 weeks of complain, “owner” called me offering $300 rebate (1800-300=1500 not 1200 as was on verbal estimate) and said that he is sending somebody right now to fix chimney cap, THEY CAME TWO DAYS LATER.

I went online to YP.com base off the TV commercials saying that they list top rated contactors for many jobs. I needed my chimney cleaned and I saw online that Dream Team Construction was rated 5 stars so I called them to set up an appointment. I was told that Dream Team Construction Contactors would come out on October 26, 2010, at 12pm to clean my chimney for $84.95.

October 26, 2010, at 12pm no contactors from Dream Team Construction came to my house. At 12:15pm I placed a call into their office to confirm my time of service. The female call taker stated to me that their contactors were in my area and will be to my home shortly. I waited to no avail. At 1:15 pm I called back again to check the whereabouts of the contactors that was in my area. The female caller passed the phone off to the office manager Tom and Tom told me his guys should be pulling up any minute now. I waited for another 30 minutes before I called back and cancelled my appointment due to the fact that I could not wait any longer and had to return back to my job. While on the phone cancelling my appointment, I overheard the female stating that the contactors that was supposed to be in my area, were really in Denville, NJ, this being an hour north of my location. Tom got on the phone with me at this time and he tried to take for a fool telling me that my appointment was scheduled for 2pm when I know very well that 12pm was the time I was given by the female who took my call last week. I told Tom that I was not going to pay this game with him and that I would just express my disappointment in my online review.

Tom called and left a voice mail on my phone stating that his company would come to my house after I get off work and clean my chimney for half price. After my experience with the time wasted and Tom trying to take me for a fool, I don't want Dream Team Construction nowhere near my house or chimney.

I had a chimney job done last year and the Dream Team did a very good job so I called them again this year and had it done again just 2 weeks ago and all I can say is they are the way to go!! Finally, a company we can depend on for our house needs...Oh yeah guys, I need my gutters done so I will be calling u up!! Thank you!

Our Chimney Fell Down and Dream Team came quickly and Rebuilt our chimney with in a week. Looks great and no more water problems. Thank you Kenny
