Dental Examination
When you come to our office for your scheduled cleaning, one of our experienced dental hygienists will assist your dentist in removing any plaque and tartar that has built up on your teeth with a scaling instrument. Another term for professional cleaning treatment is a dental prophylaxis. It is critical that this build up is removed regularly to help prevent gum disease, gingivitis, and bad breath. If there are any cavities found during the examination, these can be resolved as well. During a professional deep clean, your dentist will also perform a full dental examination to look for signs of gum disease or other issues. Additionally, they may take x-rays that can diagnose any problems that may not be visible from a regular mouth examination, such as impacted teeth, tooth decay, abscesses, and more.
