Dedicated Dog Training

Our 2 years old lab retriever/coonhound mix was in need of training due to her high energy. She was in constant motion and although a very loving and playful pup she would just not listen. My cousin had sent her German Shepard to James and was very happy with the board and train so we decided to send Sophie to the board and train program. Sophie was with James and his family for three weeks. After having experienced a former dog running away, I was a nervous wreck for three weeks. However James was in communication with us often enough that it made me much calmer and less nervous about her being away. Sophie came back to us with the ability to follow her commands - heel, come, place and sit. Although they seem very basic it still allows Sophie to be that loving and playful pup we love with the ability to listen to us when it is time to listen. We are keeping up with the training and continuing to work on the foundation that James built with Sophie. We highly recommend Dedicated Dog Training.

What James of Dedicated Dog Training has accomplished with our dogs is nothing short of a miracle. We handed over two very sweet but unruly puppies -Chloe, a 1 1/2 year old Great Dane and Max, a 6 month old Siberian Husky - what we got on their return were two very different dogs. He has transformed our dogs into two calmer puppies. James did an amazing job; he is very knowledgable, dedicated and professional.

First i would like to thank dedicated dog training for giving us the opportunity to become part of their family. I will also personally thank james for the great and extensive work he did for our dog apollo. We never imagined he could be walked off a leash or follow any commands and he came back after being boarded for two and a half weeks a new dog! We are amazed and dazed with all the changes and I highly reccommend using this groups training services. They treated my dog like one of their own and provided comfort with amazing videos!!

I would like to start this review by saying that I was very cynical of a board and train program that was only two weeks long and promised such impressive results. I interviewed four companies, and ultimately went with Dedicated Dog Training.

I was impressed with the initial "interview" with the owner of the company James. He was forthcoming with all the information, extremely pleasant and didn't promise us the world for our dog (a one year old golden doodle). He answer any and all questions I had ( quite a few of them) and then left the meeting with no further "pressure" or "sales tactics". He basically said "Heres my number, if you would like to use us, please give me a call, if not, good luck"



We ended up using DDT, and could not be happier with the results. James did an amazing job, was extremely flexible with the dates, and kept us updated the entire time (we were away on vacation). Our dog is 100x better behaved, walks off leash in the neighborhood (with people/dogs/cars moving just feet away). To say I was impressed is an understatement.



If you have any doubts, trust me, the service is WELL worth the money.

I will never get another dog and not have it go through this training.

Raven is our beloved 8 months old Siberian Husky, she has been treated like a little princess since we got her at 8 weeks old, picked up many bad habbits such as mouthing, stealing toilet paper and toys, digging in the yard, being teritorial on the couch and bed. Walking her was also impossible. Raven stayed with James for two weeks for the Board and Train program, she came home a YOUNG LADY. She has significantly matured and have grown out of adolescence with obedience and structure. With the remote training collar, she is amazingly walking off leash, responds to us when we call her. I'm no longer concerned about her running away when we open the door, and are planning a family trip upstate where she can run freely. We are very happy with the results and it is important to us dog owners to reinforce what James has taught for a long term success.



James as a trainer is friendly, patient, flexible and very easy to work with. James understands dogs and their behavior in order to communicate with them which is the key to success. He also follows up regular with progress videos and detailed instructions. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

James worked wonders with our 6 month old redbone coonhound. She was a puppy and getting into everything and with james' help and professional training she has become a wonderful doggie. He was awesome, thanks for the help

We have a one and a half year old yellow lab named Ollie. She is extremely loveable and cute but had a mind of her own. She would jump on people when they entered our home, steal food from the table and peoples hands, loved to chew shoes and any kind of paper. It was becoming stressful to have company over and constantly having to chase her around the house! I found James online and contacted him. He was very helpful on the phone and was patient with me and my hundreds of quesitions. After working with James for 5 weeks, Ollie had truly turned into a well behaved and loyal dog. She listens to us when we call her, stopped counter surfing, and best of all we can keep things around the house without worrying that she will take it! James made the training a lot fun for both of us and Ollie! His knowledge and dedication has transformed our dog into the perfect friend! We highly recommend James to anyone interested in training their dog!

James transformed our lives! Our two Boston Terriers were wonderful dogs but completely out of control - jumping on people, pulling on the leash constantly, and ignoring any commands we attempted to teach them. Thanks to James, we are able to take our dogs out on or off leash and know that they will stay by our side. They are happier dogs and we are happier owners. So glad I found Dedicated Dog Training on the web. My dog Murphy did great and now listens to commands and his behavior is much improved. James was excellent with Murphy and taught us so much about how to handle him and continue on with his training. James made training Murphy a pleasant experience for us because he is so knowledgeable, patient, and a nice person. Murphy really liked him and so did we. I am first time dog owner. When I decided to get a dog, I did all the necessary research into the breed and what owning a dog entails. Not once did I think MY DOG would ever not listen to me.. LOL When I first brought my Boston Terrier Rhea,9 weeks old, home I probably let her get away with alot more than I should have. Like I am sure most first time dog owners do. (I think)



It was not long before I was listening to her and not the other way around. I thought to myself, "what did I get myself into".. I thought to myself that I should probably correct some of the issues I caused and train her on basic commands to make life a little easier. So I looked around into PetSmart and Petco to see what their "training specialists" had to offer. The price seemed right but after seeing a couple of the classes personally, they didn't seem to know anymore of what to do than I did. This concern me and caused me to reconsider buying a package. I didn't want to throw money away and still have an unruly dog.



So I did a search for dog trainers in my area. That's when I found Dedicated Dog Training. I called and spoke with James. And after about a half hour explaining what a horrible dog owner I was, he explained the program and even gave me a couple of tips to try on Rhea immediately. He told me to think about everything he said and he would call back in a week to see what I thought. I loved the fact that he was not pushing the program on me and promising an angel of a dog afterwards. After just one day of trying his tips, I called back him back and immediately made an appointment.!!



Rhea loved him!! She responded to the first session amazingly. I was a little nervous doing the off the leash training but James put my nerves at ease and explained everything in detail on how it worked. After seeing how effectively it worked I was convinced. After completing our sessions, I enjoy Rhea so much more. She is a different puppy, she still tries to get away with things but since Dedicated Dog Training not only trained her but trained me, I know how to handle her better. I can look back on each lesson notes that they email to you after each session to refresh my memory on what to do. (this is great and much used)



I am pleased to say that Rhea and I go for walks without a leash and I have no fear that she will run away from me. So like I said before, Dedicated Dog Training has saved my life. They took what I thought would be a grooling experience of training and made it very easy. I must say I was skeptical about training my puppy Neko. Neko is a boxer that was a Christmas present for my 4 year old daughter. As you all know Boxers are strong, powerful and grow to be somewhat big. I was afaird of Neko being to powerful for my daughter and also for me. I decided that I needed to have Neko trained.



I found Dedicated dog Training at my Vets office. As I was waiting in the Vets office along with others I struck a conversation with a couple who ranted and raved about Dedicated Dog Training. Mind you it depends on the day and who is in the waiting office on what training company is recommended. I liked what they had to say, so I called.



Upon calling and speaking with James we made an appointment for him to come over meet me, Vanessa and Neko (like an interview). Well James told me so much that I can't remember. But what I do remember is that I was impressed with what I was told and yes still skeptical. I singed a contract and we made our first appointment.



I have to say that after our first appointment I seen major imporvement in Neko. And it only got better and better after every visit. I would like to say Neko is just smart but I can't it was James.



Dedicated Dog Training is very hands on and detailed with their training. James makes sure there is follow up e-mails with exact details of the training class you just had (so you can refer to it at anytime. He is also available to any questions after the training course is over. I have to say that Dedicated Dog Training went way beyond what I thought would be done or said they would do. Of course I have to keep up with the training lessons taught just like children what you put into them you get out. That is the most important lesson Dedicated Dog Training taught me.

James of Dedicated Dog Training has once again exceeded my expectations. This past month I boarded my dog Daisy w/ James and was thrilled to know she'd be spending the time with him in a family setting. She received "a refresher course" from her puppy training with him a year ago. Upon Daisy's return, I could see it was nothing short of a miracle. She is incredibly obedient and walks at a perfect heel. In the past, it was a challenge to walk her, now it's a pleasure. Her progress is a reflection of James' knowlege, dedication and patience (with dog and owner). I am truly grateful to have James on this journey of pet ownership!

My experience with Dedicated Dog Training was amazing. I must admit I was not sure if my Golden Doodle could be trained to listen to me. Jim was very patient and explained how to train my dog in a way that I understood. I would highly recommend Dedicated Dog Training to any one interested in having an obedient dog. Jim's training methods not only work but his concern regarding the happiness of my dog made me a fan forever!!!

We are first time dog owners. We chose to bring in a 10 week old beagle puppy into our family. After two weeks at home, we knew we needed help. I called three trainers and James really stuck out! He came to our house and clearly explained his methods. Although, we knew James was the right trainer for our dog, I was concerned about the remote dog collar. I just wasn't sure it was the right method. After one lesson with James, we all knew we had nothing to worry about. It was clear that James was experienced and committed to training our dog. He was caring, patient, and dedicated. James spent all the necessary time needed to make sure we, and our dog, understood the commands. The lesson did not end after he left. James always followed up with a summary email.

He was also easily accessible if we had any questions. We

have a very different dog now thanks to James. We also

know that our family has a friend and valuable resource in

was the absolute best thing we ever could have done for both our puppy Reggie and ourselves. James explained everything we would be doing in advance and stuck to his plan. We all learned very quickly which made it a really great experience. James really cares about your dog as much as you do, and Reggie sensed that immediately, which I think help train him so quickly.

We not only had a great trainer, great training, but also we made a friend. I could not imagine there could be anybody out there better. James asked us to be brutally honest, that he could take the criticism...sorry James we could not find one negative thing to write...We now have a really wonderful trained dog!

Dedicated, dependable, reliable, experienced. These words all describe James and his marvelous dog training methods. Abby was just a wee 4 month old Boston with a 3 year old big brother, but with the help of James and a little bit of homework, Abby is now on her way to becoming a well behaved "princess". She is a pleasure to walk with now, and has become very obedient while walking off leash in the park. We highly recommend James and Dedicated Dog Training for off leash training for your dogs.

When my husband told me that he had found a dog trainer online who used off-leash training, I told him there was no way I was going to let my 4 month old puppy, Bradley, be electrocuted. We would just have to deal with his nipping and chewing everything in the house for the next year of his puppydom. I agreed to meet with James and am so glad I did. James assured us that the collar annoys them but does not hurt. At my request, he allowed me to put the collar on my hand so that I could see for myself. The tingle I felt was not at all painful, and the vibration feels like the sensation I feel when I get calls on my cell phone.

When you get a puppy, you expect to invest a year of misery to get back many more years of joy, respect and unconditional love. Bradley proved to be particularly destructive and aggressive, so we went to James. It is hard to describe the difference in the dog we got back after 2 weeks. No more nipping at us, no more chewing on furniture and shoes. He runs to get his teething toys instead. I did not get back a programmed robo-dog as I had also feared. He is just as loving and affectionate as he was before, but has learned the respect piece much earlier than I ever expected.

James took the time to explain everything to us patiently, which is important when you are trusting him with your baby. He kept us updated on Bradley’s progress throughout the two weeks via e-mail and videos on Facebook. He did an amazing job with our boy and he is really a nice guy to boot! One more thing I need to say – James will actually call you back in a timely manner and show up when he says he will! A rarity these days! If you are looking for a dog trainer, this is a no-brainer.

We were at our wits end with our adorable Jack Russell puppy, Twix, until we met James of Dedicated Dog Training. Twix was nipping, destroying furniture and random household things and going potty EVERYWHERE! James taught us how to better focus Twix's energy and communicate on a level that she could understand. Now we are still working James' techniques and our relationship with our lil girl keeps getting better and better! At 6 months old, its still a daily process, but James trained us to better know how to help Twix.

I found James online when looking for a trainer for my 1yr old Yellow Lab, BABY. I emailed him and he contacted me almost immediately. We arranged a visit and once being reassured the collar was not cruel in any way, I knew James was the right trainer. Baby loved him and he loved her. I signed up for the Board and Train incorporating a vacation while she was away. I especially liked the fact that she was going to be part of his family. Not just a boarded animal. Graduation came 2 days early, happily, sinced she was missed. Baby is a great dog and James made her amazing. No more leash pulling, she walks off leash beautifully. No more jumping. With continued training using James' instructions all of Baby's bad habits will be gone soon. Thank you James for your caring & professional ways with my baby!

We found James on line under "DOG TRAINING". My wife, Roberta and I were desperate. We purchase our Scottish Terrier 8 months earlier. She was our 3rd Scottie. The first two had lived long lives and we enjoyed them both. Mollie was different. She had a mind of her own and would not come in from the yard when called and if she escaped out the front door would take off and only come back when we begged with treats. James came over and clearly explained his various programs and the costs. We signed up and after the first lesson, the results were amazing. We refer to Mollie's ealier behavior as Pre-James and her new behavior as "What a wonderful dog". She has become the kind of dog anyone would love.
