Jimmy is the most professional, hardworking, and kindest business owner I've ever met. We've used him for the past five years since we purchased our house. We had a gas starting fireplace with gas logs when we moved in, but wanted to switch to wood burning. Jimmy thoroughly inspected and cleaned our chimney in our new home and did a great job switching our fireplace to be wood-ready. I simply can't recommend him highly enough.

In addition, (be sure your kids are reading this!) when he came to our house today, he asked me and my 3 year old son to come watch as he emptied the soot that he had swept. As he opened the flue, Santa's driver's license AND a piece of Santa's pocket fell down into our fireplace! My son's face was one of both astonishment and wonder. My son also followed him around almost the entire time he was here with a million curious questions. Jimmy was so patient, funny, and kind with him. To say it in a word...Jimmy is the BEST!!

In talking with Jimmy, a friend of ours who owns a chimney sweeping company, we shared with him that our chimney had never been swept.



We’ve been in our house eight years….



So we had our chimney swept this week.



What I expected was our friend to come in his truck with all the right tools, clean our chimney and our fireplace, look for flaws in our flu and chimney and give us a bill. He did all the regular stuff… but he also did a lot extra.



He involved our child.



He talked with her and got her involved in learning about chimney, fireplace and fire safety. He gave her little tasks and she helped him on the job – boy did she feel like a big girl! He showed her how the soot in our chimney was flammable and when dropped on a heat source would ignite immediately…

As part of the fireplace inspection he actually gets into the fireplace and looks at the flu…. to her surprise..he pulled out Santa Claus’ drivers licence and a red piece of Santa’s frock



Her eyes were as big as watermelons. Santa actually lost is driver’s licence in OUR chimney and he ripped his suit…



At the end, he left her with a great helper award, a coloring book and a little chimney sweeper.

Connie and Jimmy made me feel that my business was important to them. I have never done business with them before, but they made me feel comfortable with them from the very beginning. Jimmy did an excellent job of cleaning our chimney. Using his chimney cam, he showed us the condition of our chimney. We could see that it needed to be repaired to make it safe to have a fire this winter. At our request, Jimmy gave us his recommendation on the repairs that were needed and the options that we could choose from to make our fireplace safe. We also discussed with him the possibility of upgrading the fireplace by installing a chimney cap and a top damper. He gave us a cost quote for the entire project and told us it would take two days to complete the work. Connie put us on the schedule for the work to begin in a few days. Jimmy arrived to begin the work at the time specified and completed the job as scheduled. We are completely satisfied with the work that was done. It was done to schedule, at the cost quoted and the quality of the work was excellent. Jimmy worked until he had completed what he planned to get done on the first day. He didn’t seem to be concerned with the time it took to complete each task, but in doing the job right. He is truly a craftsman and takes pride in his work. When I need chimney work done, I know that Custom Chimney Sweeping will be the first call I will make.

Called to make an appointment for repair of my panels inside my fireplace and some rust. Turned out they would not come out and give me a quote of my repair unless they swept my chimney first. I insisted I did not want it swept out unless the repair quote on the panels and rust damage was in-line or better with other quotes. They said they would have to clean the chimney, stick a camera up the pipe and inspect for repair/damage. I insisted that I was not concerned about the pipe or top of the chimney, but only what was clearly damaged with the panels and rust initially, and then we could have the chimney swept if the other repair charges were fair. They said they would have to clean it first anyway. From the beginning felt like they were trying to sell me additional services, which I clearly stated I did not want up front. They were persistent in selling their services (seemed like so it would not be a wasted trip if we did not accept their repair quote) and did not listen to me (the customer). Truly disappointed that they could not just come out and take a look like other companies are and have. I felt like I was fighting to get their business. I work with several contractors in the housing industry and would not add this company to your list.

We needed our chimney cleaned/inspected. Our appointment was made for the next day and Jimmy arrived on time. The whole process took about 30 minutes and there was no mess to clean up afterward. Jimmy even cleaned our second flue(sp.?) that we didn't know about. Our water tank was performing poorly and afterwards it was business as usual. I would highly recommend Custom Chimney Sweep to all my friends. Best job for the buck!

I have dealt with many companies and contractors on numerous occasions and I would rate Custom Chimney Sweeping the absolute best experience I have ever had. Starting from the time I called and scheduled an appointment - Connie was very professional and when she scheduled she infomed me that she would give a reminder call the day before, which she did. When Jimmy arrived ON TIME and began cleaning my chimney, I was worried about a mess - WOW there was not one spec of soot any where when he finished. He was very professional and friendly. He also cleaned my dryer vent and dryer and showed me all the lint and stuff he removed from my dryer. I could not believe how much stuff came out of my dryer and I now realize how dryer fires start. After he was finished my drying time improved tremendously. I will be calling Custom Chimney Sweeping every year to get my dryer and chimney cleaned. Jimmy and Connie are fabulous business owners. I wish more companies were as knowledgable and professional.

Punctual, professional, friendly... I had my dryer vents cleaned by Jimmy. He told me he would arrive at my house at 11AM; he was there at 10:59. My dryer was performing very poorly. I would have to cycle cloths through 2-3 times before they dried. After Jimmy left it worked like a champ.

My husband and I called this company to have them come out and inspect/clean our fireplace, from the person who answered the phones to the gentleman who came out it was fantastic. We knew when to expect them and wonders of wonders he showed up on time and was very knowledgeable about his profession. He cleaned our chimney and was able to show us before and after what it looked like. We were so impressed we called and had James come back out and clean/inspect our dryer vent. Our family now feels safer because these two things can cause fires if not taken care of correctly. James was very professional and explained everything to us. We will be using them again in the future for maintenance. I highly recommend this company to anyone and in fact referred my parents to them, they are building a new house and need two fireplaces and he is going to install them.
