Blame it on the Salukis - they were the braintrust responsible for Camp Canine. Salukis are very clever members of the greyhound family: crafty and sneaky, and fast as lightning. We've raised and treasured them for about 40 years, and never vacationed because we weren't comfortable with the available dog care options. We worried the Salukis would outwit a visiting sitter - probably tie her to a chair and invite all their pals in for a wild party; a kennel, of course, was out of the question, because incarceration would shock their pampered sensibilities. In 1983, since at least one of us and usually both of us were home, we decided to open our doors to others who felt the same way about their furry family members. And there were many!
