Natchitoches Regional Medical Center

I have 4children and been to many hospitals to see new babies but this hospital had rooms that are neither visitor friendly or overnight worthy rooms!!! I can't NOT express enuf how extremely SMALL the after labor/delivery rooms are for new mom baby and dad or visitors are! My guess is they are about ten feet by eleven feet and once u put a Hosp bed, baby Hosp bassinet, & ONE chair in that size space imagine how much room is left!! The family next to us had family fly in and they could not even stay to visit in the room together! After that much money to fly here and not be able to celebrate together was upsetting for them and I felt terrible for thinking how mad we were for driving 4 and a half hrs to visit! The one bright side and its a big deal was the doctors and nurses were ALL very nice! I can say they were the only reason we roughed it out there and didn't go somewhere else. To top off the closet room was the roof being re-done and the whole top floor(of course our floor!!) smelling like burnt rubber! It was not pleasant and gave some of us headaches n made some of us nauseous. Fix these 2things and your Hosp would be 5stars! The sstaff, not even some but ALL were great! I wld say the best Hosp staff I have EVER had the pleasure of being around and with. Even in hallways and in the cafeteria. They treated us like we were family and knew us for years. They are all the reason for the 3stars I'm giving. Change the rooms new babies/moms get and this would be an amazing labor delivery Hosp!
