The organization s 250-plus fundraising consultants and trainers have helped raise nearly $650 million for schools and nonprofit organizations since 1975. Many different organizations have turned to Great American Opportunities for help organizing their fundraising programs. Using Great American s free brochures, students take orders for Great American products. They charge retail prices, while Great American charges wholesale prices. The difference makes up the client s profit or the amount of funds raised. Great American Opportunities is headquartered in Nashville, Tenn., and maintains a distribution center in Lavergne, Tenn.

        Overall

        It's a great place for college students to get their feet wet in the world of sales. The training is really substantial, and the real-life experiences of selling and working with a team will help them with whatever career they choose. If they work hard, they could make as much doing this for a summer as they would doing any normal job, and even quite a bit more. The program is solid, the rest is up to you. I'm glad that I did this for the experience, which has helped me in my career today. There are always naysayers. But do you have the backbone to go out and do something for yourself, regardless of what they say?
