Wow! We were very surprised and shocked to see a review like this for David Balfour. We can attest to the fact that the negative review on here is nothing like our experience whatsoever. It is a shame that some people like to post disparaging remarks about others, without ever knowing (or caring) about the consequences of such posts. We (my wife and I) can honestly state that David was nothing but the utmost professional as he helped us purchase a home. Generally buying a house is a stressful situation for us, but that was not the case with our most recent purchase, and we have David Balfour to thank for that! David's vast knowledge and experience of the Nashville housing market was amazing, and so helpful as we visited houses in various neighborhoods around the city to find a home that was perfect for us. He was attentive, responsive and truly listened to what we needed. We never felt as though we were not his #1 priority, and if he was not available (he is a popular real estate agent, after all) he would always get back to us within a reasonable time. We saw the other review on here and it was surprising, since that is nothing close to our experience. We came to leave this review because working with David Balfour was like having a family member help you buy a house :)

Agent David Balfour is a very unethical agent that doesn't practice or abide by real estate ethics codes. I DO NOT recommend bidding on a house that he represents or using him as a relator due to his disregard to proper real estate agent practices and UNPROFESSIONALISM. We saw a property listed by David on the first day it was on the market and put a FULL ASKING PRICE offer in immediately with a standard 24 hour deadline to respond. After 24 hours had passed with NO RESPONSE our relator called, left a voicemail, sent a text message and an email over a 48 hour period and still received NO RESPONSE.

Finally our realtor was contacted back 3 days later only to be informed that there was now multiple offers and to come back with our highest and best offer. We were aware that there were no other offers put in besides ours in the first 24 hours. He blatantly ignored the standard 24 hour response time frame to allow for other showings and offers to be put in which then led to a BIDDING WAR. We only had a four hour time period between being notified that there were other offers and when we had to come back with our best offer.

We feel cheated out of a house because of how David orchestrated the opportunity for other showings and offers to come in so that we would have to bid against each other and drive up the price. PLEASE be careful when dealing with this agent. His interest lie in his commission and not helping get you into a nice property.
