D. Bruce Irwin, M.D. opened the first American Family Care medical clinic in Hoover, Alabama in 1982. Today, there are 28 clinics with several additional clinics under development. By the end of 2011, we expect to have 35 clinics. The company's model of "putting the patient first" has made it an overwhelming success. The clinics are designed, equipped and staffed to provide comprehensive family care, urgent care, minor emergency treatment, and occupational medicine. The Nashville clinic is open seven days a week from 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. - "No Appointment Necessary".

American Family Care is designed, equipped and staffed to provide comprehensive family and primary care, urgent care, minor emergency treatment, occupational medicine, and work comp cases. AFC uses electronic medical records and has a high-tech, high touch, digital x-ray system and on-site lab. Feel free to stop by for a routine check up, flu shot, immunizations and vaccines, or to get a physical for school, sports, or camp. We participate with most major insurances and you will always see a doctor at our Nashville West location!

Waited for 1 hour in the lobby, and then 2 more once I had a room. I went in for what I knew was a bladder infection, yet it took 2 hours for the doctor to let me pee in a cup and write me a prescription. Then I got a $77 bill in the mail for services not listed (note that I paid $150 upfront). I didn't have to pay it, since I called the billing office and was told the doctor made a mistake by ordering an additional test.
