Kathy Edwards will immediately take sides based on who’s personality she likes, disregardIng all facts. She is easily manipulated by a sociopath. She will twist doctor’s words to make the person she doesn’t like look bad. She will flat out lie about how much time was spent with each evaluation. She doesn’t think about what’s best for the child. She should be reported and sued for malpractice.

Did a horrible job. The home study included many untrue statements that were stated as truth without any proof, just took my ex's word for it.

-I was charged $200 for her to contact people I listed to vouch for me as a parent.

She did not contact any of them.

-I was charged for court time, when we didn't even go to court because my ex hadn't paid the balance which she failed to mention until the day of court, thus trail was pushed back even further.

-She requested to interview my girlfriend. My girlfriend called her 3 times and emailed her and she never returned her call then in the home study said that my girlfriend was unwilling to meet with her.

-She state that my ex's finace was allegedly spanking my kids. All my kids told her he was spanking them.

-The home study was vague on many custodial issues.

-She stated that my son had to be 3 years old for overnights when the parenting class and the mediator said 2.

-I could go on and on.

-Threw the study together.

I never write reviews, but after having Kathy as my attorney for over 2 years of divorce and custody hell and her going out of her way to fight for our family, she deserves a review. Kathy has a GREAT rapport with the Canyon County Court, the judge and other prosecutors respect Kathy. She DOES NOT fight dirty, and is not a pit bull lawyer, if you are looking for that type of Lawyer it is not her. She does take a genuine caring approach to custody as she loves kids and believes they have rights. She will fight for what is right, and does expect to get paid for her work. All of the one star reviews are their opinion, don't let that detour you to speaking with Kathy. She has a heart for teaching law and this does take some of her time, yet she always is prompt with my case and very dependable in court. I have retained her 3 times thanks to a messy x.

We hired Kathy almost 8 years ago. She took our money, and then when our custody case got hard she quit. That was 2008. In 2012 we find a collection on our credit report from her claiming we owe almost 4000 dollars. She never called, sent a Bill nothing. We had paid our bill fully. The collection company has never contacted us. Now 7 almost 8 years later we are just now getting a call. She is out to get money any way she can.

Almost eight years ago i made the mistake of hiring Kathy to defend me. Avoid this office just like so many have already said! She tells you what you want to hear, and will gladly take your money for her retainer to defend you. After that, get ready to plead to a lesser charge. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! Everything people have already said about the lack of service is true! I don't even want to give this a one star rating.

I hired Ms. Edwards for a custody case and I was delighted with the results. She was professional and dedicated to my case. I read the reviews on this site about her and there were a couple negative reviews, but my experience was completely positive. I know everyone's case is different, but I would recommend Ms. Edwards to anyone. I noticed that no one signed their name to the bad reviews, but I'm happy to sign mine. Julie Dawson

I was fooled by Kathy Edwards consultation. She was awesome until she took the retainer than it all went downhill. Was told after almost 10,000 dollars of her billing us that we no longer have a case, it should have never been filed. I am also filing a complaint with the bar. DO NOT BE FOOLED! DO NOT HIRE HER!!

Kathy Edwards is a horrible attorney in my opinion. Once she receives the retainer, she abandons her clients. Once she has your money, she never returns phone calls and refuses to meet with her clients. She only meets with them initally when she accepts the retainer and the rest of the time you talk with her assistant. She promises you everything at the initial meeting, but then later changes her tune and says that you no longer have a case. All she is interested in is money and not helping her clients.
