I've been overspending at Powells for the past 15 years. There are many other options just south of Powell's. Today I had an unfortunate encounter with the owner who was very nasty to me. Instead of apologizing she said ""I'm the owner. I can do whatever I want." From now on I will support the many other roadside merchants between Powell's and the Outer Banks.
