Rice & Spice

I hadn't had some Thai curry in a while, so I decided to hit up one of the restaurants in the area.

The restaurant works out of this weird, little building that has a really tall, red roof that extends down to a little bit above window level. It's not hard to miss. The parking lot is VERY cramped; be cautious when you enter or leave the parking lot as it's really just one somewhat big lane for doing either. The parking goes along the left side and behind the building.

I didn't really get a good look at the inside of the building, but it seemed alright. The kitchen seems to be to the right of the small cashier's desk and it's not walled off, so I think some of the heat gets into the rest of the building.

I ordered the # 29 (Masaman curry) with tofu and waited about eight to ten minutes for my order to be ready.

The amount of food I got was smaller than what I've received at other restaurants serving curry in the area. The rice was in a small, side-order container like you would get at a KFC. The curry was in a container for a large, side-order container.

I think it was slightly overpriced. The curry was $6.95; I think $5.95 would be more acceptable.

Nonetheless the curry was still good. There were lots of pieces of soft tofu and a fair amount of potato chunks and peanuts. Wish there had been other vegetables in it as well, but the description of what was in it was accurate. The rice was cooked well too.

If you do eat here and happen to like it enough to come back, make sure to pick up one of their frequent diner cards and a menu. Both are on the little counter in the cashier window.
