General Info

Operational for more than 80 years, Ouachita Parish Public Library maintains a selection of books and journals for children, youths and adults. The library s circulation department features online databases and e-books. It issues library cards that assist to access a range of books, recordings, framed artworks, periodicals, videos and CDs at various branch locations. Ouachita Parish Public Library s collection of digital archives includes photos, newspaper articles and historical documents. The library maintains an international genealogical index that contains over 200 million names of individuals from around the world. In addition, it houses a variety of rare books, such as autographed editions and Louisiana literature, as well as yearbooks from several local high schools and universities. Ouachita Parish Public Library works in partnerships with various local and national businesses and organizations, including Anytime Fitness and the Biedenharn Museum and Gardens.
