Oriental Garden

Our family loves the food! Great variety, fresh beef, chicken, pork and seafood. Fresh vegetables in all dishes. Great soups. Our favorite is Happy Family--a mix of meat, poultry and seafood with crunchy vegetables in a great sauce. Of course, there are many other dishes we love as well. The staff is friendly and we enjoy seeing regulars like us!

Beware! No intergrity for food or service. We ordered Sweet & Sour Chicken, picked it up, and took it home. When I got home, the meat was not chicken and very hard to chew. So I immediately took it back to get it resolved. The person behind the counter told me it was pork. I said no problem just replace it with the chicken. She came back from the back and informed me that because we ate half of it, which we didn’t eat any of it....it was disgusting, and because they marked as pork when I called it in, even though when I picked it up confirmed chicken, he (owner) would not replace it with chicken. I then asked for a refund. They refused and pointed to the sign that noted “no refunds”. (Now I know why they post no refunds) So basically they got my order wrong, gave us disgusting food, refused to correct it and kept my money even though we couldn’t eat the food. I've lived in Monroe my whole life and have gotten Chinese from the same place for years, but I was doing some shopping in the area of this restaurant and thought I might try something new. I could use all the space allotted to detail how awful this restaurant is, but I'll try to keep it concise. They are overpriced and charge extra for every little thing, things that are complementary at most chinese restaurants. Their customer service was appalling. The clerk did not take the time to explain the size options available, so I ended up with way too much food. Not only were the portions wrong, but so was the actual food. I told the clerk several times that I had never been here before and asked several questions, but that didn't seem to matter. I ordered my food to-go with a very hungry family waiting at home. When I got home and saw what was in my bag, I became very frustrated, considering the amount I had just paid. I gave the kids some rice to start on and called the restaurant to explain my problem. I told the clerk that I would be back in a few minutes to correct the order. She agreed. When I arrived I was refused any replacement or refund. She pointed at a small sticker on the side of the cash register that said no exhange/no refund. Even the cook came out and verified that what I had in my hand and what I ordered were two different things. She hushed him really quick and said he was new and didn't know what he was talking about. In the end, I just walked out and left the food on the counter, I'll take it up with my bank tomorrow.

They didn't want to deliver because we were 10 cents short of the limit and didn't have time to discuss options with us. Clearly did not think we were important as customers.
