Slorby Tom Law Office

Tom is a great lawyer. I am not and was never related to him and I can't help but notice that Courtney Welty has opened accounts all over the place just to trash this one attorney. Not sure what she does for a living where she comes in contact with so many lawyers, but you would think that she would have chosen a different attorney after the initial consultation where she claimed he was so terrible?? Makes no sense. On to my experiences: 1 - my divorce. My husband had left me for another woman. Nonetheless I was willing to share custody because "in the best interest of the child" actually means something from me and I would never separate my kids from their father. Anyway, I was floored when out of nowhere, my ex had given a sworn statement that among other things I was an unfit mother with an alcohol problem. I was for some reason, actually worried. Tom handled it like a pro!! Caught my husband in a lie, in open court, and it was wonderful. I was still willing to share custody, Tom said no you're getting full custody full child support and you can decide when visitation takes place. And that's how it went, though I do allow my kids to visit their father often (usually every other weekend, he lives in Minot, I live in Rugby so the drive is an issue). I can't say enough about Tom's legal skill. If you're looking for a lawyer who will tell you exactly what you want to hear, then go elsewhere. If you want a brilliant lawyer worth every cent and will give you a more realistic picture then hire Tom.

Mr. Slorby provides superb legal services to clients all over the state of North Dakota, though his primary focus is criminal and family law. Anyone who has experience dealing with the court knows that things move very slowly and the rate at which the case moves through the system is not a reflection on the lawyer's experience or expertise. If you want a lawyer to guarantee that you will have the outcome you desire then Tom is not your guy. If you want a lawyer who will provide you with an honest probability of outcome, one who will work to ensure that your best interests are met and one who has over 40 years of experience practicing law then Tom P. Slorby is the lawyer you should call!

This guy is- flat out- an artist. Brilliant job.

Tom is a highly skilled highly experienced attorney. If you want a cheap lawyer go elsewhere. If you want one of the best in town then he's your guy. Yes sometimes it took Tom a while to return my calls, but that was because he didn't have any updates for me, because he was waiting to hear back from the courthouse. Not his fault. Nothing is off about him the people down here leaving poor reviews are probably meth cooks who got a plea deal had to serve a couple months but in their mind they should never have gone to jail even though they were the middle of cooking up crank while the cops busted in and they punched one of the cops. Seriously the things people expect some people expect from their lawyer...yet they don't ask their doctor to perform miracles they catch an attitude when their attorney can't do the same. LoL I mean granted I was facing 6 months and served 0 jail time makes me a little biased I guess.

I must say that I am shocked to read these poor reviews! This lawyer handled my case as quickly as the court would and I was NEVER hounded for money as I always paid on time. Considering all, I believe him to be a very good lawyer. Patience is key when dealing with any matter that goes through more than 1 party to be fully resolved!

Like most lawyers, you must be patient. Your case will not update every day, so you can't expect an update every minute. Slorby Law Office does not have a consultation fee, however if you want paperwork filed on your behalf, then you have to pay for that (because the courts charge for that...and that isn't what your lawyer gets paid). He is former Ward County States Attorney and has been doing his job almost 40 years. Those who dislike him, likely got too greedy, or were unrealistic about what the outcome of their criminal charges would be. Also I notice people often say things like "this lawyer only wants to get paid"....right, so does your plumber, your doctor, your mechanic, everyone it seems except for attorneys are allowed to get paid. A professional has every right to expect payment, and if all the reviews below were accuarte, then they would have approached the state bar association with their case.. Maybe they did and the Bar Association told them their claims were without merit. I had a very nasty divorce with my ex-wife and Slorby handled it beautifully and professionally, and I am so glad it is over. He was most helpful during a time when I was about to get taken to the cleaners and lose all contact with my children. I wouldn't have what I have today if it weren't for Tom.

Stay away from Slorby! This guy never returns calls and something about him is just "off." Talks a lot without saying anything, A real BS artist.

totally agree, this lawyer only out for himself, not worth a penny for his thoughts! many true, honest ones to choose from, stay away!

I would not recommend this slimey lawyer....unless you are crooked too.
