Kyoto

I go to Kyoto on Sun. regularly with a group if friends. For one set price you get traditional appetizers, maki, sushi, and dessert. (Try the Green Tea ice cream, you'll want and get seconds ). For the artistry and skill put into each dish, it really is a bargain as well as a nice place to " break in " people who think they do not enjoy sushi.

Kyoto will change their minds as they have a wide variety of vegetarian, cooked, and of course raw offerings.

The staff are friendly and attentive as well. Overall, each time I have been to Kyoto I have never been disappointed.

Don't let the fact that it is in a strip mall close to Southridge fool you, Kyoto is a first class place, with affordable pricing.

I absolutely love this place...you get great food, and a variety of choices to pick from...not only that, but the prices are so reasonable. I absolutely love to go with my mom and we just try new things everytime we go...there deep fried breaded squid appetizer is amazing!!! also there seaweed salad...to die for!! Don't forget to try some shumai and also jellyfish salad!! They have THE BEST ginger salad dressing in the milwaukee area...other places are really gritty and thick..this place is smooth, and creamy and very nice flavor. Its a bit smaller than most places, but it works out for them...when it is full, we just wait..it happens, sometimes we go and sit at the sushi bar, which is really fun and enjoyable time. I absolutely LOVE their EEL rolls....it is mouth watering! Absolutely LOVE this place...if I didn't have bills or anything else to worry about I'd spend my paycheck here..everyday ...lol :-) enjoy..and do you know the actual way to eat sushi...read up on it...its interesting. The pickled ginger is to cleanse your pallet...not to eat with the sushi/rolls.... Enjoy!

So that was my review back in 07/2010, but as of today 10/2011 I have to say it all went south. I couldn't say enough about this place up until my last dining experience. I had the WORSE possible service EVER!!! i totally forgot they had specials or anything somy husband and i ordered a bunch of things off the regular menu..and they NEVER even gave us a special menu or reminded us of the special menu.... but everyone around us got one and we noticed after we placed our order already. Then the guy didn't even give us hand cleaners or anything...our drinks were empty..and he could have walked around to the other side to grab the plates/cups but reached across us while we were talking and almost got me in the head with the corner of the plate...it was an overall bad vibe...service....he rushed us...never told us about any specials....but told everyone else around us...so we felt like singled out u know.....I'm going to walk away from all of this at this time and try a different place.
