Workers Compensation
Recent developments in leaves of absence and workplace accommodations have drastically increased the liability employers’ face in addressing such requests by employees and applicants. The increased complexity regarding the interplay of state and federal laws concerning family and medical leave, worker's compensation and disability accommodations, have made compliance all the more difficult. Construction Litigation
We assist virtually all segments of the construction industry serving a wide variety of contractors and owners, both for municipal/government and private construction. Estate Planning
There may be instances when a person is not satisfied with how another person’s probate proceedings are being conducted. Situations may include objecting to a Will, filing a claim in the estate, or questioning how a Personal Representative is handling the estate administration. We represent clients in such disputes in the probate court.

Power of Attorney
A financial power of attorney is a lifetime document. In the event a person is incapacitated, the designated agent will have the authority to make all financial decisions for the incapacitated person.
Probate

Bankruptcy
A Chapter 7 bankruptcy involves the elimination of debts and can involve the removal of security interests in collateral. A Chapter 7 bankruptcy case does not involve the filing of a plan of repayment as in Chapter 13.
Foreclosure
Whenever a debtor files for protection under the bankruptcy code, an automatic stay puts a halt to all collection, repossession and foreclosure efforts by a creditor. A motion for relief from the automatic stay is a creditor motion requesting the court for permission to foreclose on its security interest. A creditor who violates the automatic stay may be subject to harsh penalties.
Tax Law
Trusts are used for a variety of reasons. A trust is helpful when there are minor children, or parents do not want children to inherit assets at age eighteen. A trust is used to facilitate the transfer of assets at death, and in many cases may eliminate the need for a probate proceeding. More complex trusts may be used for estate (death) tax planning, planning for a special needs child, or in second marriage situations
