Zitter Group was founded in San Francisco in February 1989. Over the years, as the managed care market has evolved, so has Zitter Group. When the company first opened its doors, patient outcomes and health economics were just emerging as important issues. In the 1990s, Zitter Group was involved with the birth of disease management as an influence on the healthcare system, producing the first educational programs, the nation's largest conference, and a variety of tools for managed care organizations and health systems. Company founder Mark Zitter wrote the first chapter in the seminal book Disease Management: A Systems Approach to Healthcare.
