Walmart Supercenter

This is probably the most poorly run walmart I have ever visited. On any given day of the week the employees have no idea what items they sell in their store much less where those items are located. To be fair, the powers that be are frequently making the decision to move or change displays and it seems the employees just can't keep up with the constantly moving items. I can only guess that this walmart is an unpleasant place to work because I very seldom encounter a friendly employee. Frequently they are grumpy and just plain bothered that I would even have the need to approach them and ask a question, and forget getting any help with out a shoulder shrug!

Tonight however, Thanksgiving night, was by far the worst experience I have had at this walmart. We arrived at the store at 7:00pm for the early Black Friday sale that was to begin at 8:00pm. We planned to try to get some buys on children's items and then wait around for the 10:00pm sale to get the 60 inch tv. Chaos does not begin to describe the situation and while Black Friday shopping is always chaotic this was ridiculous! People all through the store were tearing into the displays of items that were not to be sold until 8:00pm and even 10:00pm. When we arrived at 7:00 the 1 (yes you read that correctly: 1,single, uno) 60 inch tv that they had in stock was already sold! Let me say that again. They had ONE tv in stock for an advertised Black Friday sale, which was not to even be available until 10:00 and at 7:00 it was already SOLD! Why even advertise this item!!!! This was not the only case where this type of bait and switch happened. The 12volt riding toys that were to be sold at 8:00pm, well they only had TWO of these and they were sold and gone at 7:00pm as well. If you were going to this walmart to get most any of the Black Friday Deals you definitely needed to be there sometime before 7:00pm regardless of what the advertisement said because at 1 hour and 3 hours before their advertised sales the employees had already sold their extremely limited stock. I actually witnessed and an employee unwrap a bundle of items wrapped in cellophane for the 10:00pm sale because "well a customer tore a hole in the side of the wrapping so I just figured we should just go ahead and unwrap the display for people to get it." Really? That is your reasoning?

Seriously, Don't bother shopping at this Walmart. Drive a few extra minutes to the Prattville Walmart. At least their employees are not completely clueless. This Black Friday experience was a complete FAIL. Sam Walton would be very disappointed! As for this shopper, it will be some time before I find myself shopping in a Walmart store, especially this one! Same on you walmart for lying to your customers and misrepresenting a sale. And same on your employees for not giving a crap!
