The Dog House

I called to make an appointment today. The lady who answered the phone asked if a certain date worked for me. I said I will have to try somewhere else because that was too far out of a date for me. She then asked if one day earlier would would work. As I started to say no again, she hung up on me mid-sentence. What a rude and inconsiderate way to treat a now FORMER customer or any customer for that matter. I put up with a noisy and filthy atmosphere the first time because of the convenience of their location but no longer. I encourage everyone to avoid that place if you value being treated with respect. With the way they treat humans I can't imagine how poorly they treat the animals when their owners are not present. Save your money, your dignity and your animals and go elsewhere.

The people have always been friendly to us, treat our two shih tzus very well, and have done a great job on their haircuts. One of our pups has issues with his ears because of allergies, and he seems to do better after a haircut from the Doghouse than with the previous groomer (not sure why). Reasonable prices!



The only thing I don't like is the amount of time it takes to get them done. We work during the week, so we have the dogs done on Saturday. The pups are dropped off between 8:30am and 9:00am and the groomer calls when they are ready to be picked up. Sometimes, they are ready close to noon, and sometimes its more like 2 pm, depending on how many dogs were scheduled that day.

The employee I dealt with at The Dog House was quite rude to me and rough in handling our small fur baby. The cut was decent with only a tad work for me to touch up when we got home but it was the handling of our baby that will keep us from going back. Much better groomers in the area with better prices.
