Vaccination
For Dogs & Cats: If you are filling out an Admission Form, a copy of your most recent rabies vaccine is required (only if you are not purchasing the rabies vaccines and your pet is over 12 weeks old). If you request the booster vaccines, a copy of recent vaccination records is required.
Behavioral Counseling
The behavior changes as a result of sterilization surgery are positive. Males reduce territorial spraying. Neutered animals fight less and do not wander in search of a mate.
Nutritional Counseling
Weight gain is more a product of exercise, calorie intake and aging, than spaying or neutering. Your pet will remain fit and trim if you continue to provide exercise and monitor food intake.
Comprehensive Examination
A staff member will weigh your pet and check their vitals. The veterinarian will perform a brief physical exam to assess their fitness for surgery. At this time, you may leave. Don’t worry. Your pet is in good hands.
For both dogs and cats – fecal testing for intestinal parasites, screening for external parasites and/or pre-surgical bloodwork for high risk patients
Behavioral Disorder Treatment
Pain Management
Many steps are taken to keep your pet pain-free, both during and after surgery. We use isoflurane anesthesia and hospital-grade monitors to evaluate tissue oxygenation, heart rate and respiratory rate. Isoflurane is one of the safest gas anesthesia used for pets. Local and regional nerve blocks are used on all patients for long-term pain control.
Skin Condition and Allergy Treatment
Eye, ear and skin problems, anal gland scooting and licking, mild pain, weakness, lameness, minor bites, wounds, lacerations, and burns, urinary problems, coughing, sneezing, nasal discharge, lumps and bumps, fleas, ticks and mites, worms, broken toenail and euthanasia.
Intestinal Foreign Object Removal
$945 to $2,200 depending on complexity. A potentially life-threatening condition, when strange objects (foreign bodies) are ingested by your pet is unable to make it successfully through the intestinal tract, we help remove the object from the body.

Parvovirus Infection Treatment
Feline Retro Virus Treatment
Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) are serious infections. It is important to know your cat’s FeLV and FIV status to provide the best care possible.
Ear Infection Treatment
We are able to pluck any ear hair that may be predisposing your dog to an ear infection. These are easily performed while your pet is sedated.
Anal Gland Infection Treatment
If you find your pet scooting its rear on the floor or if they have a history of full anal glands, we can easily express them while your pet is sedated.
Consultation with our veterinarian needed to provide cost estimate. A deep cut / tear of the flesh from trauma or infection. Unlike an incision with smooth edges, a laceration is often jagged and irregular.

Veterinary Surgery
The following photos are visual examples of improperly healing surgical sites after having your pet spayed or neutered. If your pet surgery was performed at Pets In Stitches, please contact us if your pet’s incision looks like any of these pictures.
Spaying and Neutering
In response to recent published scientific studies and other personal concerns, some dog owners seek a way to ensure that their dog does not reproduce yet still benefit from sex hormones throughout life. At Pets In Stitches, alternative sterilization options – ovary sparing spay (hysterectomy) and vasectomy – are offered.
I understand that Pets In Stitches may not perform a complete physical examination before surgery is performed. I also understand that my pet will not receive pre-operative blood work unless done prior and waive my right to have this service performed prior to surgery.
Dental Radiology
I understand that dental radiography is not performed as part of a dental procedure at Pets In Stitches. I accept that abnormalities under the gum line and broken teeth fragments may not be identified and care will not be provided for those. I understand that, if I wish dental radiography to be performed to identify all dental conditions, I must seek care elsewhere for my pet
Microchipping
If a microchip is found in this animal, Pets In Stitches reser ves the right to contact the microchipping company and registered owner / agent.
