We believe that pregnancy and childbirth should be experienced in a safe and pleasant environment. We believe women have the right to choose the care that fits their lifestyle and respects the individual, social, spiritual and economic needs. We believe that women have the right to choose the care provider, the place of birth and who will be present at the birth. We believe that women have the right to know the pros and cons of all procedures and interventions that are available, suggested or needed during the pregnancy, labor and birth, which helps them, make informed decisions.We believe that babies should receive the best start in life. This includes: having his or her mother obtain excellent prenatal care, having no drugs introduced into their bodies during labor, being born in a supportive environment, sparing them from the harmful separation from the mother and family after birth, and having the opportunity of being breastfed within the first hour of birth.As a midwife, i practice under the Laws and Rules of the Florida Statute 467.
