Oak Grove Apartments

Okay!!! Here we go...
Both me and my husband are in the military. My husband was on orders, and I tried to find a good reasonable priced apartment. I seen this apartment and checked it out..it didn't look so bad from the outside....but I was so stupid not to look at the bad reviews about this apartment in the beginning.
Maria showed me the model apartment, and it was very nice. I ended up moving in....and that's when I started to notice problems. Sometimes the elevators wouldn't work...so I had to use the stairs to bring up all my belongings. When night time came around...there would be like these parties outside...(seriously). There would be a bunch of people outside of the complex with music blasting very loud....and they would be drinking and doing all sorts of things. I was shocked. Then the cops came, and it cleared.
The next day....I've noticed I had roaches....I seen one...then two...then more and more..I complained to the leasing office, and they said they would have someone come in and spray the apartment. Two days later, the guy came in and did that. It still didn't get rid of the problem, so I had to handle the situation myself. There's trash all along side of the stairs. It's not the maintence peoples fault for the trash...it's the disgusting people that live in the complex. They're all ghetto, and throw there trash everywhere.
Sometimes at night you will hear a bunch of gun shots going off, followed by cops and ambulances. I didn't feel safe there....at one time these two guys followed me to my apartment wanting my number...and I had to yell and tell them to go away.
There are cops ALWAYS there....I seriously seen them there atleast 4 times a week...I am serious!! The laundry center is disgusting. The residents do not care about keeping it clean at all....it's was really disappointing.
My husband came back from active duty and parked his car in the back of the apt complex. In the morning, he found his car broken into. His whole window was shattered in and the thiefs tried to take his dvd player out. Luckily they weren't able to get it out...but there were wires everywhere from the struggle. My husband complained...and nothing was done.
They let anyone in the complex. They aren't strict at all with letting people in. So if you think your safe....your not at all.
One time...I got done taking a shower, and went into the living room. There was a strange man in my living room by the balcony crouched down..... I was ln terror....and he looked at me and said..."maintenance man"....I was like wtf seriously?? I said how did you get in here? He was like..."spare key"....I guess when you get the apartment, they are allowed to come inside your apt when your not home, for repairs or checkups....So if you do get the apt(please don't) make sure you take that option off when you sign the lease...I don't think you realize how scared I was, when I seen that....They never told me this when I signed my lease...So they could be going into peoples homes when there not there...and never realize it....
This has been the worst apartment I've ever lived in. Yes it's in the ghetto, and it's my mistake for living here. I should of done my research before I moved in here. This is a VERY dangerous place to live in....At night tmie is where all the craziness begins...You see crazy looking people walking around...people picking through the dumpsters, and a bunch of thugs trying to start drama with others. Whoever gave this apartment a rating of 5 stars must of been management...because nobody in there right minds would rate it that....

So much has improved since new management has taken over this year. Gates are working, elevators are working in maintenance to come and take care of issues with in 48 hours. I am a single female that has lived here for the past six months and I am really starting to like this apartment the price is amazing and I’m happy I did not listen to the negative reviews. I understand there are rules, and I’m glad I read up on them prior to my moving in. Example is the parking is says you cannot back in and people get mad when they back in in the car gets towed. The new management has clearly displayed all these rules all over the property, they want to clean it up and they’re doing a great job so far

This apartments is really not what it seems, It looks okay on the outside but in the inside its infected by roaches and all other animals. here is my incident of this apartment, the people in the office in not good with customer service at all. I put an deposit in but change my mindto move in, I let them know that they advise me that I need to wait a week, okay i was cool with that, I call in this morning and supposedly the office manager Eric or Erin Elkins wanted to talk to in a rude way for my money, not theirs, and they did not even show me the apartment, One of the ladies in the office told me that they already cash my money order, that why they are taking too long to give me my deposit...These people think they slick, how are you going to cash my money order and not show me the apartments. I knew something was up, when every 5 minute someone came in and complain..... Don't belioeve what they tell you.......
