Miami Veterinary Specialists

Our 17 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback became very ill and lethargic on a Saturday afternoon. We called Knowles Animal Clinic and Pet Emergency and were told by both that they weren’t taking any more patients because they were full. We didn’t know what to do. We showed up to Miami Veterinary Specialists and immediately they brought our dog in and started working on him. Dr. Samantha Carter was amazing and so compassionate. Unfortunately, our dog was too ill and we had to make a hard decision. But the compassion and excellent medical care and staff at this hospital was amazing. It made us get through this hard time. Everyone, the girls upfront and techs were so kind. Thank you.

My worst nightmare! They charged me more than $5,000 for a surgery my dog “supposedly” needed (which later I found out, from other vets, it was not necessary) and ended up with my dog DEAD because the “surgeon” accidentally cut a blood vessel and my baby bled to death!!! So basically, I paid them $5,000 to have my dog die! Please please please be aware!!! Don’t be foolish like I was!!!! Dr. D’Amico: stay away from her!!!!!

This place takes VPI insurance--they have good costumer service too! Because it's hard--especially in this economy to spend over $10,000 to save your dog's life--or any animal for that matter.

Urged surgery for my dog's stifle knee just after a 10 minute examination. No MRIs etc. used. Asked for $5500-$7500 for the surgery. It's been almost 2 months now and my dog is doing pretty good without a surgery but conservative management therapy recommended by other vets I've seen.
THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE WELL BEING OF YOUR BABY AS LONG AS THEY CAN CHARGE YOU THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. DON'T TRUST THESE PEOPLE.

Does this dog look like he is about to die? Well, he did! After a surgery that went WRONG! A surgery that was insisted on us , claiming it was absolutely necessary!

ALL they care about is money money money! Botched unnecessary surgery then wanted to be paid for nearly killing my pet. Bad care several times. Avoid at all cost!!!

The emergency room staffs was thorough when we brought our sick puppy in at midnight on 2/14/07 and they reacted swiftly when she became even more ill during her visit. We were so scared for Pepper and we are so happy the emergency room staff did what they were able to do so Dr. Larin could see Pepper in the Morning.

Dr. Larin – thank you for taking the time to speak through Scooby’s conditions with us during our multiple visits over Scooby’s two day stay with you. Thank you for caring for Scoobyfor the allowing us to have private visiting time with her. Bringing Scooby back to health mean the world to us.

It has been about 10 days since we left your hospital our dog had become as vibrant and happy as she ever has. She is so happy! Thank you for saving her.
