Emergency Care
The primary objective is to restore blood flow to that area immediately. Lifesaving treatments for heart attacks must happen as quickly as possible. The first order of business no matter what the situation is to call 9-1-1. Arriving to a hospital emergency room as quickly as possible to have the opportunity to restore blood flow thru that artery can be the difference between life and death
Electrocardiogram
An important component of cardiac medicine is diagnosis. At Cardiology Healthcare, we take pride in our ability to administer sophisticated tests such as EKG and echocardiograms right here in our Miami office.

Internal Medicine
Joaquin would go on to do well in High School and attend medical school in the Dominican Republic. After obtaining his Doctor in Medicine degree at “La Universidad Central del Este,” he decided to head back stateside, this time to Philadelphia, where he would do his Internal Medicine training at Temple University. He enjoyed his time in the city very much, despite the drastic climatic and cultural differences it held with the Caribbean he knew so well. And so, he decided to stay and get his Certification in Cardiology at the Medical College of Pennsylvania-Episcopal Heart Institute. It was a formative experience for him, and he holds a lot of love for the people of Philly, but ultimately, he couldn’t stay away from the tropical breezes. So, he ended up returning to Miami to begin practicing Cardiology.

Ultrasound
Vascular Studies refer to procedures that help the doctor evaluate blood flow in arteries and veins. Dr. Diego may order a so-called Triple A– which stands for abdominal aorta and aneurysm– study. He may ask for a carotid duplex Doppler test; peripheral venous and peripheral arterial studies; or a renal artery ultrasound.
MRI
Dr. Diego will check for a heart murmur and perform a physical exam. He may also order an MRI, electrocardiography, or blood tests to help diagnose the underlying problem.
X-Rays
Computed Tomography
Dr. Diego may diagnose AAA by physical examination, Ultrasound or CT (computerized tomography). Ultrasound can be used to screen for aneurysms and to determine their size. CT scans are accurate and may be used as well for presurgical evaluation. Other tests which are sometimes used include MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) and Angiography.
