These guys were really good to...

These guys were really good to work with. They gave the best price for the car, they were easy to contact, they gave straight answers and they always did what they said they would do.

For example, I couldn't wait around with the car for the 8-noon time frame they booked. So they said they would call me an hour before arriving at the site to pick up the car, which would give me enough time to get there. Sure enough, I got a call on the morning of the pick up at 8:30. I arrived at 9:25 and the truck showed up minutes later.

I was initially concerned about accepting a check for the car. But after working with them to schedule the pickup and get info for the DMV release of liability, I felt better about it. I did go straight to the bank to deposit the check and it cleared with no problems.

I highly recommend them.

I tried to find salvage yards ...

I tried to find salvage yards in my area but there weren't many to choose from. I sent out emails to several online company's. DamagedCars gave me the best price and showed up the next day with a check that I immediately took to the bank and deposited. I checked my bank account the next day and the money was deposited with no issues. I would highly recommend this company. Quick and freindly service .. no hassles.

I was searching for someone to...

I was searching for someone to buy my 1987 chev celbrity that the engine dropped on and so I can't drive any more . Repair cost was not worth the vehicle. I called one man's comp and he offered me $100. I decided to wait . A co worker said my title was worth more so, I looked and found damaged cars. com they quoted $375. The only problem was cashing a check. So I called the first man back and told him the quote and he offered to match in cash. That sealed the deal. I sold it today . If I didn't need the cash now I would probably have gone with Damaged Cars. com. My only concern is being paid by check. I have never heard of this comp. Respectfully David Aston I must say all the people on the phone were very courteous. The only problem was when I called to cancel the pick up it wasn't registered by the operator who answered the phone I know this because I got a call wanting to schedule a pick up. The company I sold my car to is local in Salt Lake City ,Utah called ' Car sold for cash'. Again they matched the offer and it was cash. The only3 complaints about this company is confusion about my car on the phone . they weren't there at the appointed time agreed. And talking on the phone was a challenge.

Overall
damagedcars.com from Mi.

I had an awesome experience although at first I was sceptical because my 2003 Ford expedition was my baby..lol but when the engine went out I kept her around for3yrs in hopes of coming into some money to get her fixed I never did, so I called two companies one wanted to offer me $750 then I left my information in damagedcars.com they paid me $1,350 for my old expo...they cut me the check and even gave me recommendations on how to clean the truck out properly before pick up, called when they were about half hour away and gave me the check, towed the truck and I cashed it...they were awesome...

I sold my car to damagedcars.c...

I sold my car to damagedcars.com after a wreck. After shopping around they gave me the best price and were willing to pay on the spot.. It took a day to get the pick up arranged but they brought my check and took the car just like they said.

Sounds like a great idea, but ...

Sounds like a great idea, but in theory, it just doesn't work. They called me and offered an obscenely low amount of money to purchase my car, to which I refused. They then sent me an email with a different amount, yet still low. There are people in every town that look for fixer-uppers. By having a nationwide site, DamagedCars.com has created too much overhead (website, transportation to/from damaged vehicles) to offer anyone a fair price for a damaged car. Calculate how much your car would be worth to scrap (a safe estimate would be $225/ton) and you'll have a pretty good idea of what DamagedCars.com is probably willing to offer you.

If you're in dire need of getting the car off of your property, these guys might be the answer for you, but I'd sooner call Goodwill or Salvation Army to come pick up the car for donation. The tax write off would probably be more than what you'll get from this site.

Not knowing what type of vehicle was submitted makes a response difficult. I do appreciate the fact that you present fairly sophisticated information on the price of steel. Generally this type of information comes from competitors in the same marketplace. Thank you for indicating that we would pay a fair competitive price for scrap. If a scrap car is submitted to the site I do believe our offers are fair based on the local market you happen to be in. We welcome all scrap vehicles. For potential customers with cars that are not scrap, I will assure you that you will get a fair market value based on the car you submit. Looking at our most recent non-scrap offers in the last hour, we have a wrecked 2001 Nissan Frontier with a $2300 offer made in New York. A 2003 Toyota Corolla, front collision with a $1750 offer in California. A 2001 Honda Accord with a bad transmission in Texas, $1650, a 2004 Toyota Tundra with collision damage, $6500 Texas. I could continue, but hopefully this illustrates we evaluate non-scrap cars based on their market value, not the price of steel. I will offer one suggestion for owners of older vehicles that may end up with a scrap offer, if you have an operable older vehicle in decent condition and you don't mind a little extra work, sell it retail if you can. It will always be your best bet. DamagedCars.com (nor any other dealer) will match the retail value. However, if your car has collision damage, mechanical problems or other issues that make the car difficult to sell retail, give DamagedCars.com a chance. We are here to help. Feel free to contact me directly with any questions. My name is Scott Westmoreland. I am the Operations Director at DamagedCars.com. 877-877-7911 Thank You...
