Teeth Cleaning
Dental cleanings are performed by our registered dental hygienists and are a critical component of maintaining dental health. During your appointment, the hygienist will remove dental plaque, a sticky, almost invisible film that forms on your teeth. (If you scratch your teeth with your fingernail, the white, milky substance you see is plaque.) Plaque is made of bacteria, food debris, and saliva and produces toxins which infect and inflame the gums. If not eliminated, this inflammation can lead to periodontal (gum) disease.

Implants are a great way to replace missing teeth. Implants are surgically placed into your jawbone. Once they are inserted, it takes your body a few months for the bone to grow around the implant and integrate. After your bone and the implant have integrated, an impression of your upper and lower jaws will be taken to create a crown for you implant that will fit with and function like the rest of your teeth.
Bridges
A fixed bridge is used to replace missing teeth. A bridge helps to create a normal bite, prevent stress on the dental arch, prevent the drifting and tilt of adjacent teeth, inhibit decay in difficult areas, and slow the onset of periodontal disease. Bridges are composed of abutments, the sound teeth on either side acting as supports, and a span, a framework attached to the abutments with artificial teeth attached to the framework.

Root Canal Treatment
A Crown is a restoration that covers a tooth in order to strengthen it as well as restore it to its normal shape and size. A crown may be placed to support a large filling when there is little remaining tooth structure, attach a bridge, protected a week tooth from fracturing, or restore a fractured tooth. A tooth that has been treated with root canal therapy will require a crown following treatment to provide strength and support to the tooth. We only use materials for crowns that will provide the longest lasting benefits to our patients.

Dentures can either be complete or partial, depending on how many teeth they are replacing. Candidates for complete dentures have lost most or all of their teeth. A partial denture is suitable for those who have some natural teeth remaining. Dentures improve chewing ability and speech and provide support for facial muscles and greatly enhance facial appearance, smile, and confidence. Several appointments go into creating a complete or partial denture. During a consultation appointment, Dr. Miranda will explain every step of the process and walk you through it every step of the way.

Dr. Miranda stayed in Milwaukee for dental school as she graduated from Marquette University School of Dentistry. After graduation she went on to complete a fellowship in general dentistry in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, where she gained advanced experience in general dental procedures. Before coming to High Point Dentistry, she spent time volunteering at the Waukesha Community Dental Clinic providing dental care to low-income children and pregnant women.
