Insensitive & unethical

The doctor had little patience responding to questions and was irritated by seeking clarifications on some valid concerns.

The administration did not collect the co-payment on the post-surgery visits even asked about it and later we were billed for 5 appts while we were thinking that the visits were part of the post-surgery follow-up appts. They would have clearly know the type of claim they would submit to the insurance company and yet did not appraise us of the cost of some of those unnecessary appts.

I liked Dr. Pickens but the of...

I liked Dr. Pickens but the office staff is incompetent and from my experience, they assume you don't know anything. Some of my experiences include, scheduling an ultrasound at the wrong office and after a 2 hour wait as a "work in" they refused to call the other office to confirm their error (which they eventually admitted to without apology). Not calling with test results, not calling to schedule appropriate tests and leaving you sitting in a room for a long time without an update.

Finally, after the last screw up the nurse had the audacity to note my record with not only a skewed (which is to be expected) but blatantly inaccurate account of what happened. (I took my records the last time I went)

Again, great doctors, crappy staff!

Customer Service

I have been a patient at Ruch Clinic for 15 years. I have worked in customer service for 15 years. My visit on May 11, 2011, will be my last! I felt like I was being herded like cattle, get you in and get you out. The lab technician had no customer service skills. She said "Sit down, hold your arm out staight, make a fist, lock your elbow." All in 10 seconds. She then tied the band, two swipes of the alcohol and jammed the needle in my arm. I have never had blood drawn that quickly. Two other patients were waiting to have lab work so it wasn't that she was so backed up.

The nurses that call you into the rooms, open the waiting room door and barely say the name of the patient. They should walk out into the waiting room, say the name and look for the patient. Many patients are older and cannot hear that well.

The front desk staff needs to be friendly, smile and look you in the face. No one ever looks up from their computer, they just start talking, and hand you a clip board. The whole staff needs some customer service training.

I have no complaints about the doctors, they are patient and alway answer any questions.

I absolutely LOVE Ruch Clinic....

I absolutely LOVE Ruch Clinic. After going to numerous OBGYN's who don't really care about anything I say, Dr. Pickens with Ruch Clinic makes me feel like I'm being taken care of. He is very concerned with everything I'm going through and makes me really comfortable. That's hard for an OBGYN. I have NOTHING but positive things to say about this place and their Dr.'s.

Billing issues that they cannot resolve

I have been required for the last 2 years to go in every 6 months for repeat PAPs due to a surgery I had last year. Well I got a bill from the lab for the 2nd repeat this year and called insurance and the lab about it. I was told Ruch needed to provide the correct diagnosis code - that it cant be billed as a routine or preventative. Insurance told me they would pay when Ruch bills it correctly. Today the lady in billing told me they will not change it since I have had more than 1 return with good results. I then asked why I was required to repeat a test that they will not be able to bill where insurance pays it and was told my attitude is bad that I need to come in for my health. I bet this lady isnt having to pay $100 bills for tests that someone cant seem to bill correctly. I spoke with my insurance company and was told they can bill it to where insurance would pay it - but evidentally Ruch's billing department cant figure it out. Meanwhile I am stuck with past due bills. This place is a headache. Go elsewhere for a good OBGYN
