The Center for Osteoporosis Care was developed in order to help prevent and treat osteoporosis, a disease that gradually weakens bones, causing them to become brittle and prone to fractures. The center boasts a Fracture Prevention Program, the only one of its kind in Brevard, that is designed to help strengthen posture and muscles, which in turn helps to prevent compression fractures and reduces the risk of falling. In her first year as an NP she worked in cardiology and then transitioned into primary care. During the initial phase of Covid-19, she worked as a hospitalist providing care in the hospital. She has also worked as a rehab nurse practitioner in skilled nursing facilities providing care to long term and short term patients. Ms. Alder is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

The 16 Slice CT scanners provide Computed Tomographic Angiography (CTA) which are performed at both the Melbourne and Palm Bay locations along with general CT Imaging. CTA is a less invasive procedure than the standard angiography, making it more patient friendly.

Her years as a Surgical First Assistant in Orthopedics led to a passion for Osteoporosis and general bone health. Teresa became a subject matter expert in the disease after spending years working closely with Helen Hayes Hospital in Haverstraw and the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan, leading organizations in the field of Osteoporosis. Her expertise led toward the development and management of Osteoporosis Treatment and Prevention programs throughout New York and Florida. Teresa Imperiale-Westerfield is a member of the National Association of Orthopedic Nurses, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the National Osteoporosis Foundation.
