Pass on these guys.

I signed up at the home and garden show and was told they would come out the following week by the account mgr standing right there. Well I waiting 2 weeks and nothing I called my account mgr and still nothing so I called to cancel with the district mgr and he convinced me to stay and give him another chance so I did. With in a hour they sent me a email confirming when the would service my yard. It says Wed between 8am and 3pm well again a no show!!! So I called the office and district mgr to cancel my service and get my money back. I paid with a CC and it's been a week and no money. So now I have to take it up with their corp office This place is such a joke of a business. I will tell everybody about my opinion of this dysfunctional company!!

Their word doesn't mean crap!

Our neighbor used Scotts and it seemed that they were servicing his yard every month while our lawn service was almost nonexistent, so we hired them. We've had Scotts for probably a year and were pleased; however, our 2 huge (12 foot) fir trees in our back yard died and, although we cannot say for certain that they were sprayed with some type of chemical, we have had them for almost 5 years and they have never shown any signs of sickness, but they died and we had to have them removed.

Also, Scotts has telemarketers who call to try and get you to add services to your contract. Had one such call to add inside and outside bug control. Told him to call back the next day as I wanted to discuss it with my husband. He called back the next day and I told him we'd wait and see what happened with the warmer weather and he HUNG UP ON ME! I called the local office to complain, however, all supervisors were in a meeting. I told the receptionist to have someone call me because having THEIR telemarketer hang up on ME was uncalled for and I was really MAD. It's been 3 days and I haven't heard from anyone as yet....thinking about looking for another lawn service soon...

Our lawn looked terrible for the one year we had Scott's. There were several problems. We grew a large amount of moss, and when we asked about it, we were told to pay more money and they would fix it. When weeds would grow, they told me they couldn't "get rid of everything" but for more money, they could put down other chemicals. We cancelled the service, but they came out twice after that, and we had to pay for those services anyway. Overall, we do a better job ourselves by purchasing the chemicals at Lowe's or Home Depot. The issue for us is time, but I wouldn't use Scott's again.

Scotts is horrible. We had a sales rep come with what seemed like a good deal so we signed up since we had some serious dandelion weeds. Come to find out, the sales rep misrepresented the package to us and alluded to the fact that the insect and grub were included in the package as a perk for signing up. It wasn't until after Scotts treated for these and then sent us a bill for an additional $100 that they then told us that it is a part of the package in that we get the service and then have to pay in full for it. I was irritated about the misrepresentation of product by there sales rep, so they took half of the amount off, but wouldn't take off the full misrepresented amount. Then when they came out the first time, they sprayed the liquid weed and feed about 3 hours before a heavy rain. There were a whole lot of weeds that never died because the product washed away (apparently it needs at least 4-6 hours before rain). I called them to come back, but you have to wait two weeks, so between the week that I had to wait initially and then the two weeks that we had to wait for them to come back, the dandelions started going out of season on their own. Bah! Then the next time they came out, they put down pellet fertilizer which children and pets should not be on until it has rained and the pellets dissolve. Well, it didn't rain for four days so my three kids and the neighbor kids and pets (which we have over all the time) couldn't use our yard for those entire four days. Considering the money you pay for this service, it was really frustrating. Even after all that, our yard looks OK but not great. There are still some weeds in the middle of the yard. I cancelled my service and my neighbor who was watching our yard to decide if she should go with Scotts or TrueGreen has decided to definitely not go with Scotts. It was a pricey learning experience for us, but now we know to NOT go with Scotts in Whitehall. Poor sales representing, poor customer service, poor product delivering.

Nice staff but I decided to try another company because the lawn didn't look as nice as I had hoped. The main part of my lawn looked great, but the technician would not pay attention to the grass that grew between the sidewalk and the curb.
